Posted Apr 24/16 - Hay Throws Complete Game Win!

The Sin City Titans started out of the gate Sunday kind of slow vs The Shockers. With the game tied 2 -2 in the top of the 6th inning Chris Gschwender lead the inning off with one of his two singles on the day but was forced out at second by Carlos Mazon. Then with two outs Carlos stole second and scored on a base hit by Brandon Fick who also had two hits on the day. Then in the top of the 7th The Titans put the game away with 4 runs with base hits from John Hay, who reached base four times on the day in between pitching the complete game win and a hit from birthday boy John Carra who scored a rund and drove in a run, then a walk from Anthony Ramos who also had two hits and two RBI’s and Jeff Mathews who added two hits and RBI. Tom Pulcini capped the inning off with a two RBI single making it 7-2 Titans. Sin City added one more in the 8th inning making the final score Titan’s 8  Shockers 2. Posted Apr 17/16 - Titan's Gloves Fail In Loss To Sox

The Sin City Titans have not played with any kind of consistency this season mainly because of holidays and rain outs, and Sunday it seemed to really look that way.  The Titan’s hit the ball hard and Chris Gschwender looked great on the mound. But that’s just two thirds of what it takes to play and let alone win at this game, you have to field the ball and throw the ball too.  The Titan’s committed six errors vs a very good  Black Sox team who took advantage of every error. Chris Gschwender who’s great pitching performance was spoiled by the sloppy play also lead the team hitting going 3 for 4 with a double and RBI. Anthony Ramos went 2 for 4 with three RBI’s the only highlights for Sin City.  The Titan’s (2-2) now have double-headers coming up with the missed games, that’s the bad news. The good news is with the multi games it could give them the consistency they need to back on the right track.

Posted Apr 3/16 - "11 inning Walk Off"

The Sin City Titan’s in their longest game in team history (11 innings) came back for a walk off win vs The Bravos on Sunday. Zach Qualls got his first start for the Titans and pitched a solid 7 innings, giving up one run on 4 hits and striking out seven. With Sin City leading 6 to 1 Brandon Pletsch took the mound and in all fairness hadn’t pitched for a while and was not Sharpe. Giving up 5 runs in 2/3 of inning of work making the score 6 to 6 until John Hay (1-0) came in and restored order. But The Titan’s would not let one inning ruin their day. John Hay gave the Titan’s a chance pitching 3 1/3 innings of scoreless relief until the bottom of the bottom of the  11th inning when Zach Qualls who was now in Chris Gschwender’s spot in the lineup lead off with a walk then Jeff Mathews singled moving Qualls to second. Gabe Douglas then had a bunt single loading the bases with no one out. Anthony Ramos hit a ground ball to shortstop that forced Qualls out at the plate for the first out. Then CJ Najera who had struggled at the plate all day hit a fly ball deep to centerfield letting Jeff Mathews to tag up and score from third base giving the Titan’s the walk off win! Despite Brandon Pletsch rough pitching inning he did have a great day hitting going 3 for 5 with two doubles and two RBI’s.  John Carra also had a good day with the bat going 3 for 5 with two RBI’s himself. Jeff Mathews had a three hit day and scored the winning run. The Titan’s awarded Anthony Ramos who had two hits on the day but more importantly caught all 11 innings and as the entire team said “worked is butt off for us” Thanks to all the fans who came out Sunday, it is most appreciated….

Posted Feb 29/16 - "Titan's Win With Wild Walk Off"

The Sin City Titan's opened the 2016 season with a wild pitch walk off win in the bottom of the 9th inning 5-4 vs The Young Bucs. The Titan's held the lead for most of the game until the top of the 8th inning when the gloves of Sin City yielded 3 unearned runs tying the game 4-4. Giving the Bucs 4 unearned runs on the day. John Hay, last seasons MVP started the game and pitched 7 innings giving 1 of the unearned runs on five hits, no walks and five strikeouts. Tre Walsh in his Titan debut came in relief and pitched two inning giving up the three unearned runs in the 8th and a scorless top of the 9th. In the bottom of the 9th Gabe Douglas lead off with a single and went to second on a sacrifice bunt by Doug Davis. Gabe then went to third on a hard ground ball up the middle by Chris Gschwender, which looked like was going to win the game, but a great play by the Bucs second baseman held Gabe at third base. That brought up Tre Walsh and on a one one pitch in the dirt that got by the Buc catcher Gabe Douglas scored to give Sin City the win. Titan highlights from the bats came from Branden Fick who went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Juan Guzman in his Titan debut went 2 for 3 with an RBI and Carlos Mazon also going 2 for 3 with a double and RBI earning him Player of the Game!

Posted Sep 27/15 - It's Wait Till Next Year For Titan's

The Sin City Titan's looked like they were going to pull off another miracle come from behind win and force a game two for the Championship, but it was not to be this day. The Titan's gave up an un-earned run in the first inning that turned out to be the pattern for the day. The Titan's pitching and bats showed up but the defense took the day off. John Hay (8-3) pitched his heart out as always, pitching 8 innings and giving up 4 un-earned runs. The Titan's out hit the Dirt bags 10-8 with Steve Diaz (.433) going 3 for 4 and Diego Robles 3 for 4 with 3 RBI.  Anthony Ramos had a single and double. But the Dirt bags took advantage of 3 errors in the 6th inning as the Titan's beat them giving the Dirt bags the Championship 8-6. The Titan's had an outstanding year with many highlights. It seemed like there was a different hero every week. Joe Keiser led the team in hitting the first half and then left the team for personal reasons. That's when Chris Gschwender picked up the slack and lead the team in hitting (.455) and RBI's (21). Steve Diaz (.433) came on strong at the end of the season and carried the team with his bat belting two HR's and two triples. And of course there was Wandy Hernandez who lifted the team with his spirt and lifting the ball over the fence 3 times to lead the team in HR's. Antony Ramos (.309) was 2nd on the team in RBI's who was moved to the # 2 spot in the order when Keiser left and made us forget we lost our leading hitter in that spot. Ernesto Ruiseco (50 years young) hit his way into the lineup batting (.255). Alex Murphy who filled in at SS when Garrett Blair went down, Carlos Mazon who is now a Pitcher,  Tom Pulcini (.339) who played a Gold Glove first base, John Carra (.379) who set the table in the leadoff spot. Jeff Mathews (.385), Brandon Fick who led the team in babies born was solid behind the plate. Garrett Blair who struggled coming off knee surgery still batted .404. And Coach Rick Gschwender who has not missed one game in 3 years flashing signs down at in the third base Coaches box, and Michelle Gschwender keeping the scorebook. These are the tough hard nose players, Coach and Mom that give 110 % every Sunday when Coach Chris Gschwender calls them and why he calls them family.

Posted Sep 20/15 - Titan's Walk-off Into The Ship!

It looked like it was going to be a long day for the defending NABA Champs Sin City Titan's after being roughed up by The Dirt Bags in the first game of what turned out to be a double-header. By losing to The Dirt Bags, Sin City was forced to play second game vs The Black Sox who defeated The Kings earlier in the day. The winner of this game would go on to play The Dirt Bags next Sunday for the Championship of the league. It started out good for The Titan's scoring 2 runs in the first inning off the Black Sox Ace "Big Country" with hits from John Carra, Chris Gschwender and a triple from the Hot Hitting Steve Diaz!  But that would be all The Titans could do off The Sox Ace. But The Titan's had an Ace their own pitching. John Hay who matched Big Country inning per inning and giving up just two runs while striking out 10 batters through 8 innings. Coach Chris then called on Wandy Hernandez who pitched a scoreless 9th inning. With The Titan's un-able to push across the winning run in the bottom of 9th, Wandy said yes to the 10th inning and pitched another scoreless inning.  John Carra lead the 10th inning off with a single and then it was time for third base Coach Rick to get involved giving the bunt sign to Anthony Ramos who executed the perfect bunt that the third baseman couldn’t field. Now with the winning run (Carra) on 2nd base and Ramos on 1st base The Titans looked good. But two outs later the two Titan runners were still there. Then the Hottest Hitter in the Titan line-up came to the plate "Steve Diaz”, who has been making sensational plays in centerfield while coming up with big hits at the plate, would come up with another big hit again, with a game winning walk-off hit to send The Sin City Titan's to The Championship game next Sunday.

The Sin City Titan's walked off into first place Sunday with a 9 run 9th inning capped off with a Wandy Hernadez 3 run homerun! The Titan's were down 6 runs going into the bottom of the 9th inning vs the hard hitting bad boys of the league "The Dirt Bags". The team they were tied with for fist place at the start of the day. But the Sin City Titan's showed why they are the defending Champions of the league. Down 5 to 1 in the bottom of the 5th they scored 5 times capped off with the first of two homeruns hit by Steve Diaz, giving the Titan's the lead 6-5. The Sin City Titan's came out swinging vs The Nationals on Sunday, with an 18 hit attack. The Titan's now with a team batting average of .330 showed no mercy on the newly promoted team until they actually did mercy rule them 21-6. The Titan's busted out with 6 runs in the first inning and never looked back. John Hay (7-2) was on the hill and earned the win. Then it got intersting when Coach decided to give some guys a chance to pitch. Alex Gutierrez pitched a scorless inning and then Zach Vonbulin got a chance and had control problems. Then John Carra who needed directions to the mound was handed the ball. And did'nt do to bad, but by then the Coaches had seen enough and Chris Gschwender came in to restore order and closed the door on The Nationals. Offence came from the top of the order to bottom. Chris Gschwender (.438) went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI's, Wandy Hernadez hit his 2nd HR in two weeks a monster shot that was mesured about 400 feet. John Carra (.409) had two hits and an RBI. Posted Aug 9/15 - Gschwender Close's the door on NV Titan's

The Sin City Titan's coming off a split double-header last Sunday met their old rivals The Nevada Titans Sunday, and as usual Nevada played the Titan's tough. Sin City took the early lead 2-0 after two innings. But Nevada tied it up in the third inning when starting pitcher Wandy Hernadez struggled with his comand. Still struggling in the 4th inning Nevada took the lead 3-2. But that lead was short lived when Sin City scored three times to take the lead back 5-3. But that lead was short lived also when Alex Murphy struggled with his comand and Nevada tied the game 5-5. With the game tied in the bottom of the 7th inning Brandon Fick lead the inning off with his second hit of the day followed by a Marquise McKinney base hit to set up a two out clutch RBI single by John Carra that turned out to be the winning run. Chris Gschwender (3-2) then closed the door pitching 3 scorless innings to earn the win.

And it stayed that way until the 5th inning when The Yankees scored two runs off reliever Alex Murphy. Alex was relieved by Gio Battistoni and Alex Gutierrez who pitched out of two tough bases loaded situations holding the lead until the bottom of the 7th inning when The Titan's decided it was "Miller Time" and proceeded to score 10 runs in the bottom of the 7th and mercy ruling The Yankees and ending the game. Posted Jun 7/15 - Hay Hurls Shut-out vs Kings

The Sin City Titans started the second half of the season on Sunday with Ace John Hay (5-1) on the mound. And he looked like an Ace, throwing a 4 hit shut-out while striking out 12 beating The Kings 5 to 0. It only took John Hay one hour and 55 min to defeat The Kings scattering 4 hits, walking none and throwing only 102 pitches in 9 innings of work. Catcher Brandon Fick said "His comand was there all day, I love catching this guy" The Titan's were a little beat up coming into the game with Chris Gschwender on the DL with a pulled hamstring and a few none returns for the second half. The Titans had to call on their farm system. Calling up Jesse Keiser, Marquise McKinney and Mike Quiroz. The offence started slow Sunday but scored 5 runs which was more that than enough for Mr. Hay. Joe Keiser (.541) lead the way with a single and double. John Carra added two singles. But the highlight of the day was watching rookie Marquise McKinney run the bases. His speed added a whole new demention to Sin City. He collected two hits, scored two runs, drove in a run and stole a base. Coach Rick said "I've never seen a guy beat out a come backer to the pitcher" It's an exciting new look for The Titan's. Next Sunday a double-header TBA.

Posted May 17/15 - Keiser drives in 5, Titan's Win 9-5

The Sin City Titan’s (6-4) came from behind on Sunday to beat The Nevada Titan’s for the second time this season 9-5. The Titan’s took an early lead 3-1 in the third inning with an RBI double by Sidney Poore (.308) and RBI single by Joe Keiser (.545), Keiser leads the team in almost all offensive categories and with his gold like glove in centerfield is having an MVP season says Coach Rick, if he would just learn the signs he would be MVP. Starting pitcher John Hay (4-1) pitched 8 solid innings but had little help from his defense. John struck out 11 while giving up 5 runs, but only one earned run. The Titan’s down 5-3 in the bottom of the 7th inning when  Doug Davis entered the game and singled. John Carra followed with a single and Joe Keiser tied the game with a two RBI single. With two outs and Keiser still at second base, Chris Gschwender (.360) drove home Kieser with a line drive single to right field giving Sin City the lead 6-5. The Titan’s then put an explanation point on the game in the 8th inning when Anthony Ramos lead the inning off with a single, Greg Gianoulakis sacrificed him to second base and then Sidney Poore (.308) hit a towering homerun over the left field fence for a two run homerun. Doug Davis then singled for the second time in the game, John Carra walked and that man again Joe Keiser drove in his 5th run of the game to make the score 9-5 and give himself player of the game honors. Posted May 3/15 - "Titan's Fall Short"

The Sin City Titans (5-4) came up a buck short on Sunday, losing to The Black Sox 5-4. Missed opportunities driving in runs were to blame this day. The Titan pitching of Chris Gschwender and Alex Murphy gave Sin City a chance keeping the game close but it was not to be this day. The Titan’s did come back in the 9th inning down 5-2 when Garrett Blair hit a two run homerun but it was not enough falling one run short. Speaking of Garrett Blair, Garrett went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI’s including the homerun. Since his return from knee surgery, he is now batting .538 two points ahead of Joe Keiser who is now batting .536 with the hits he added Sunday.  Mother’s Day is Sunday and the next game will be announced during the week. Have a nice Mother’s Day to all Mother’s and Mother’s to be…..

Sunday was "Throw Back Sunday" which means the Titan players worn uniforms from their former or old Titan team uniforms. Which is fun for the guys and even more fun when playing a throw back team like the Yankees. The Sin City Titans (5-3) beat The Yankees for the third time this season 14-7. The game started out looking like it might be a slugfest with The Yankees acting like the 1927 Yankees hitting two long homeruns in the first two innings off Titan starter Alex Gutierrez (1-0).  Alex settled down after the two homers and pitched 3 scorless innings until being relieved in the 6th inning by Chris Gschwender who pitched a solid two innings in relief before Alex Murphy closed the final two innings, throwing two shut-out innings. As you can tell by the score The Titan bats were alive and well in this game in which they pounded 12 hits. Chris Gschwender collected two of those hits with a single and double and drove in 4 runs on the day. Joe Keiser (.550) continued pounding out hits collecting two more and he scored 4 times. Sidney Poore had a single and long double off the left field fence that drove in a run. And Griffin Kelly added a single and a double. John Carra reached base three times with two walks and a HBP and scoring three times. Chris Gschwender earns Player of the Game. The Sin City Titan's (4-3) entered Sunday's game with four 500 plus hitter's in their line-up, but strugled just to score one run losing for the second time to The Dirt Bags 12-1. The Titan's defence strugled in the field as well commiting 3 errors. A bright spot was seeing starting pitcher Garrett Blair on the mound facing a very good hitting line-up and keeping them off balence at the plate. Garrett went 4 innings giving up 3 earned runs and striking out 5 and scattering 5 hits. The big hitting day for Sin City came from Joe Keiser (550) who went 3 for 3 with a triple and leads the team in batting average and RBI's. But star of the game did't even get in the game Carlos Mazon who stepped up with a BBQ feast! after the game. Thanks Carlos for making us remember    "The Titan Brothehood Lives" And thank you to the family members (aka girlfriends & wifes) who stepped up and helped. Posted Mar 22/15 - 26 Game Win Streak Snapped!

The Titan's 26 game win streak was snapped by The Black Sox 8-1 Sunday. First off congratulations to The Sin City Titan's for setting an unprecedented win streak of 26 games dating back to March of last year. A streak which could match any sports teams triumph's today. But Sunday it was all Black Sox. The Titan's could not recover from a 4 run 1st inning put up by the Sox off Titan Ace John Hay. The good hitting team Sox hit John pretty good, but in all fairness Sin City was... a missing some key fielders resulting in 7 team errors and allowing 6 un-earned runs making John Hay (1-1) a pitcher without support which resulted in the loss. A very big boost for The Titan's was Garrett Blair's return from off season knee surgery, taking the mound in relief of John Hay for 4 innings and allowing only one un-earned run and striking out seven. The Titan's look to start a new streak next Sunday March 28th time/field will be announced this week.

Posted Mar 8/15 - "Murphy throws Gem, Gschwender's clutch double in the 9th Win's it"

Alex Murphy got the call on the bump for The Titan's Sunday and made the most of it. Murph pitched 5 innings of shutout ball scattering 4 hits walking one and striking out 5 and then handing a 2-0 lead to Ace John Hay who showed he was human and strugled for the first time as a Titan. He pitched 3 innings walked 5 gave up no hits and striking out 3 but yeilded 2 unearned runs and allowing The Yankees to tie the game in the 8th inning. So with the game tied 2-2 in the top of the 9th Joe Keiser lead the inning off with a line drive single. Next up was Chris Gschwender who was 0 for 3 and had not hit the ball well all day. But the Titan clean up hitter would not let his team down this at bat. With no balls and two strikes hit a long double to right center field scoring Keiser from first base driving in the game winning run. Alex Gutierrez closed the bottom of the 9th striking out the side to earn the save. Other Titan's who contributed were Brandon Fick who not only caught a great game but had two hits and a run scored. Joe Keiser had two hits and RBI. Anthony Ramos had two hits and a walk.            The Titans have next Sunday off and will most their next game on line. John Hay (1-0) went to mound Sunday vs The Yankees and made everyone remember why he was The Titan MVP last season striking out 12 and giving up 1 run on 3 hits earning the complete game win and Player of the game honors.  It was a close game with both starting pitchers on their games. And it was clear the team that made just one mistake could lose. From the outset Coaches Rick & Chris Gschwender knew they would need to manufacture runs to win. And so they played small ball and it worked with sacking runners over and a big hit and run play in the 6th inning giving The Titans a 5-1 win. And giving The Titans a team win streak of 24 consecutive games continued from last season. Joe Keiser lead the offence picking up 2 of the 3 hits Sin City were able to get going 2 for 3 with 2 rbi’s with one of his hits a triple. Steve Diaz picked up the other hit with a single. Player/Coach  Ernesto Ruiseco came off the bench and drove in two runs, and Tom Pulcini drove in a run.  Next Game March 8,2015 vs Kings @ River Mountain.

March 16th of this year was  the last time the Sin City Titans lost a game. 24 consective wins later they are the champions of the NABA summer league. The Titans sent eight game winner John Hay to the mound vs The Blue Titans. A team that played the Titans tough all season. And that did'nt change on this day. The game was scoreless until the 5th inning when Joe Keiser walked with one out and went to second on a passed ball. With two outs Chris Gschwender team RBI leader lined a single to left to drive in the first run of the game. Garrett Blair team batting champ who was celebrating his birthday went 3 for 4 with a double and Dave Scaringe also went 3 for 4 with an RBI. Posted May 4/14 - Titan's win first half with double-header sweep!

The Sin City Titan's swept the Blue Titan's Sunday to win the first half of the league with timely hitting and a pitching staff that is the envy of the league. Sin City won the first game 3-2. Adam Sowell started the first game and earned the win striking out 9 in 6 innings of work. Titan's closer Jason Fronczak (1-0) earned his 3rd save of the season striking out the side in the 7th. The Titan's scored all of their runs in the 2nd inning with Adam Sowell leading the inning off with a base hit and then Steve Wright doubled him home, and then RBI hits by Tom Pulcini and Dillion Smith was all The Titans needed. With the title cliched, Sin City wanted to get all the pitchers some work. Chris Gschwender started and pitched two scorless innings and left leading 3-0 with a clutch 2 out hit by Tom Pulcini. Alex Murphy followed with two innings of work but was let down by the defence, giving up 3 runs, with just one of them earned. Leading 4-3 after a triple by Jason Fronczak and a wild pitch scored him, it was Garrett Blair's turn to get some work in and he was less than sharp giving up 3 runs in 1 inning of work. With the Titan's down 6-4 at this point it was time for Jason Fronczak to restore order. And that he did striking out 5 of the next eight batters giving the Titan's a chance to mount a come from behind Victory in the last inning. The inning started with a booming Home Run (That I don't think has landed yet) by Adam Sowell. Jason Fronczak followed with a single. With one out Adam Brown walked. Then with two outs Dillion Smith walked to load the bases for Greg Gianoulakis who has been in a major slump and quickly got two strikes on him. But just like hitting streaks, slump streaks end too. On an 0-2 pitch Greg doubled down the right field line to bring home the tying and go ahead run. Jason Fronczak closed the final inning out to give himself the win and The Titan's (10-2) their 8th staright win. The player of the game could go to any one including Tom Pulcini who had 4 hits in the double-header with the clutch two out hit or Adam Sowell who earned the win in the first game and the HR in the second game or Joe Keiser (.484) who had 3 hits in the double-header. But a guy who saves the first game and wins the second game has to get the props! Jason Fronczak player of the two games.

Posted Mar 16/14 - Titan's bit by Scorpions for second time!

The Titan's (2-2) Chris Gschwender pitched a one hit shut-out for 6 innings Sunday and lead 4-0 going into the 7th inning. Then a funny thing happen on the way to 8th inning. Chris got the first two batters in the 7th, but then fatgue set in and he started getting his pitches up and the Scorpions took advantage of the tiring left-hander. Before the Titans could get Chris some releif the game was tied  4-4.  Alex Murphy came in relief and had a whole different problem, "The Titan Defence!" Alex gave up 6 runs, 3 of them un-earned runs, which put the game out of reach. Jason Fronczak came in and restored order, but the damage was done. The Titans came back with 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th, but it was too little to late and lost 12-7.  On a positive note Garrett Blair coming off a rocky preseason pitching performance vs these same Scorpions pitched very well in the 9th inning showing great comand stirking out two giving up just one earned run. For the offence it was Chris Gschwender picking up two hits, one a 375 foot double to left center. And in his first game of the season Gabe Douglas went two for two with two walks. The Titan's need to put this one behind them and remember this "It's an easy game, you throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball!" %#$&*

The Sin City Titan's won their season opener vs The Titans 9-2. The Titan's improved  their team during the off season, and in the first game of the season it showed. With some new faces and some old faces returning, The Titans look to be the team to beat this season with solid defence, good pitching, and a consistent hitting line up this season. Chris Gschwender (1-0) was on the hill for the opener. He did't have his best stuff earning the win, but good pitcher's win with what they have that day. Chris gave up just one earned run in 5 innings of work scatering 4 hits while walking 1 and striking out 3. Alex Murphy followed pitching 3 innings giving up no runs on no hits and striking out 2. Newly aquired Jason Fronczak who looks to be the Titan closer, closed out the 9th inning striking out the side. The offence had 13 hits, with player of the game returning catcher Jeff Mathews getting two hits in his return to the Titans and Chris Gschwender who also had  two hits with one of them the first extra base hit for the Titans a booming double to left driving in a run. Posted Oct 6/13 - "Titan's Summer Season Ends"

The Sin City Titans were unable to repeat as Champions, and ended the Summer Season with a 4-7 record. The Titan's were never able to be consistent enough to put together a winning team this season. With players out from week to week, due to injuries or prior commitments. The team was unable to have enough chemistry needed to win consistently. So the season turned out to be a rebuilding season. It was a season that saw Greg Gianoulakis return and lead the team in hitting (.542). It was a season that had Alex Murphy (0-2) become the workhorse of the pitching staff with 24 plus innings and a 3.49 ERA. The season ended with the emerge of a possible closer with Mike Finateri closing out the last 4 innings of the season striking out seven batters. The Titan's saw 23 different batters have a plate appearance. Those hitters batted as a team .343 with 131 hits in 11 games. The Titan's saw 8 different pitchers take the mound. And those pitchers won 4 and lost 7, with an team ERA of 3.01 striking out 86 batters in 88 innings. Those are all positives the Titan's should be proud of and can build on for the next season they play. Thanks to all The Sin City Titans Players, Coach Rick, and Scorekeeper Michelle for all the hard work they put in this season, have a safe and enjoyable Holiday Season, and we will see next year!

The Titan's played the Snappers Sunday for the League Championship. A team that has played the Titan's tough all season. In fact they tied the last time they faced. But this day it was all Titans! It was 1-1 going into the 5th inning when the Titan's broke their spirits and literally their ankles when a freak play happened at the end of the 5th inning when the Snappers first baseman caught a cleat and broke his ankle. Which caused the game to be delayed 1 hour. This after the Titan's on a dropped 3rd strike with two outs started a 4 run inning. The Titan's never looked back after that. With Chris Gschwender (8-2) on the mound it was all Sin City would needed. After giving up an unearned run in the first inning Chris closed the door, shutting out the Snappers the final 8 innings and winning his 3rd play-off game (3-0). Chris also batted .600 for the play-offs earning him MVP votes. But all in all it was a Titan Team Effort. With glove work by John Carra, Jason Gschwender, and Dallas Tracy behind the plate. And the multi hit games of Mike Finateri, Joe Keiser and John Carra's two RBI double. Thank you to all who supported the team. Congratulations Sin City Titans...

Posted Mar 24/13 - Alex pitches Gem!

Alex Murphy pitched a Gem of a game on Sunday for The Titan's allowing just one run, striking out seven “Metro Stars” over 7 innings of work. And with the extra batting practice the coaches requested of the team in between games seemed to help. With a 9 run 15 hit attack. With everyone in the line-up getting at least one hit. And multiple hit games by Chris Gschwender, CJ Najera, John Carra, Austin Geschke and Joe Keiser. Defensively Jason Gschwender was like a wall behind the plate, blocking and catching virtually every pitch Alex threw him. But the key to the game came in the 6th inning with The Titan's batting and leading just 3-1 at the time and runners at the corners and Greg Gianoulakis at the plate, Coach Rick called for a squeeze play that Greg executed perfectly with a bunt to the right side of the infield sparking the 6 run 6th inning taking the Metro team right out of the game. Tyrell Smith pitched the final two innings alowwing no runs and striking out 4. The Titan's have next Sunday off for Easter and start back with their 2-1 record the following Sunday .

Posted Mar 17/13 - Titan's get their first loss!

Titan's took their first loss of the season 3-2 vs "The Snappers" Sunday. You could tell it would be a dog fight from the beginning with the Ace of The Snapper's and the Ace of The Titan's going head to head. Chris Gschwender took a no-hitter into the 6th inning leading 1-0 and then his defense let him down. Giving up 3 unearned runs in the 6th inning was all The Snappers ace striking out 17 Titan's needed. Frustrating The Titan's all day it got heated towards the Umpires at the end with an ejection of Dallas Tracy and even Coach Rick got into a shouting match with the plate umpire over a bounced strike call. Hopefully it fires the Titans bats and gloves next week.
