Posted Sep 16/13 - Titan's Split Double-Header with Back Flips and Tempers

The Sin City Titan's split a double-header Sunday vs The Kings (7-6 and 6-7). In the first game their were heated words between the two teams after the Kings second baseman did a somersault and shouted at the Titan bench after an inning ending play. Both teams were warned by the umpires after the heated words escalated. The two teams calmed down and the game continued. Josh Levine (1-2) started the game on the mound for the Titan's and pitched 5 innings giving up 6 runs, 5 earned runs while striking out 3 and walking two. The Titan's (3-5) down 7- 5 in the bottom of the 7th rallied but came up a run short losing their 5th game of the season. Stand outs for the Titan's were Joe Keiser 2 singles and a double and Nate Bennett with a solo Home Run.

The second game had less heat but this time the Titans won 7-6. Alex Murphy (0-1) started the second game and pitched good into the 5th inning giving up just 3 runs 2 of them earned, striking out 4 walking 3 on 4 hits but needed help from David Kuzma (1-0). David pitched two innings giving up 3 runs, but only one earned run and earning his first win as a Titan. Mike Finateri closed the last inning earning the save striking out the final batter of the game. The Titan's offense despite missing 3 of their top 5 hitters scored 13 runs in the two games. In the second game it was Greg Gianoulakis double that pushed over the winning run in the 7th inning that stood out. After Coach Rick had Greg sacrifice twice in the game, Greg thought he was sacrificing again, but Coach Rick let him swing and it paid off! Giving the Titan's the win and split of the double-header and earning Greg player of the game honors. Honorable mention also goes to Mike Finateri who had a double, two walks and 3 RBI's.
