Amended Playing Rules

These rules are intended to open the indoor game up moving toward a open space fan friendly athletic game, with player related safety game measures included in an attempt to affect or potentially reduce possible concussion contact points and other higher risk injuries.

1. The Impede Zone Rule- applies to the Center Nose Tackle engagement, the impede zone will be enforced whereas in the nose tackle must line up one yard free of center but directly in front of from the offensive line of scrimmage when operating from goal line up to 20 yard line on defensive side of field defended goal line- once offense crosses midfield the nose tackle can engage direct line of scrimmage line zone established by ball placement of official.

The rule does no apply for offensive two-point attempt after touchdown.

2. The Ruse- The 4th down play rule applies to game when offense has ball inside or on the offense own 20 yard line of scrimmage, the defense must play a man to man coverage defense.

3. Stunt Rule- Only the Jack/LB and nose tackle can stunt and only into the A Gap on either side of center.

4. Game Clock- 4 quarters standard football will be used, the game clock for each quarter will be 12 minutes with a running clock exceptions for injury or charged timeout's by team or game official, other related exceptions are media timeouts at 8 minute mark of each quarter.

Overtime rule applies 5 minutes, with both teams position of the ball placement on 20 yard line to end zone and one timeout.

5. There are no kickoff's,extra point attempt, nor field goal try's in the TIFL.

6. Two- Point conversion after scores,ball will be placed on 2 yard line. the Impede rule does not apply to nose tackle, but the defense must play man to man coverage but can stunt under the stunt rule of the TIFL.

7.The Joker/TE position can use a standing two point stance, is allowed to line up lateral or vertical to line of scrimmage within 5 yards of established line, the position can motion pre snap to those positions or high motion towards line of scrimmage, he may not use cut blocks.

8. Motion Rule- up to three positions may be moving pre snap in either direction backwards, forwards, lateral.

9.Jack In the Box- Jack/LB referred to as being in the TIFL as established middle linebacker based within 5 yard box zone of line of scrrimmage, can only stunt between the A gaps on either side of offensive center and only defensive player engaged with the stunt is the nose tackle.

10. Two mandatory league rule defensive units must use man to man coverage or penalty of half the distance or automatic first down applied.

1. The 4th down Ruse whereas the offense is on its own or within its 20 yard line.

10.Start of game- A coin toss takes place with exception being no kickoff, the receiving team will take the ball on the 5 yard line, there are no kickoff's, extra point nor field goal attempts allowed in the TIFL, this effort to adjust the games kicking rule for player safety. Attempting to reduce injuries and possible concussion contact opportunities related to limited space of the sport.

11.The Rogue- LB/DE position able to use a stand up two-point stance,can rush or drop into legal 5 yard zone lateral or vertical must line up opposite of Joker/TE position player on offense, cannot stunt and must line up on established line of scrimmage point.

12.Jack/LB can only reduce line of scrimmage 5 yard alignment when in goal line defensive formation inside the 5 yard line or when opposing offense attempts two-point conversion distance of 2 feet must be clearly established by Jack/LB or penalty of half the distance accessed.
