| The Hurricanes keep the Sandvipers from coming all the way back. After dropping to 9 to 1 in the 3rd inning the Sandvipers mounted a come back. Sandvipers loaded the bases in the 8th inning with 2 outs when Chris Ponto flew out to the center field fence to end the inning. The Sandvipers were down 1 run at the time.. Kyle Clarke came in relief after Nick Smith loaded the bases in the 3rd. Clarke threw 7 innings striking out 10 and giving up 2 hits. Chris Ponto hit a double and a 3 Run Homerun, Steve Johnston and Greg Shepard each collected 3 hits and Justin Hicks hit his team leading 4th Homerun of the season. Sandvipers 18 look to bounce back Tuesday night at Paul Meyer 6:45pm. |
