One of my Best friends and favorite people who have ever played with the Sandvipers Greg Shepard will be leaving us mid season to pursue his dream at Chiropractic School. Greg is a great teammate, fun person to be around and provides great inspiration. Greg will be missed. Good luck to Greg we look foward to the games we will get to play with you in 2012.

Posted Feb 10/12 - 2012 Spring Schedule Uploaded

The 2012 Season has been uploaded. This is a partial schedule for the first 11 Games of the season. There are two scheduled off weeks in which both weekends have tournaments here in Vegas. If you want me to get you on a tournament team, let me know and I will work on finding one for you.

Posted Feb 10/12 - New Additions

Sandvipers have added a couple new faces to the squad this season.

Thomas Cable - Thomas comes from Austin Texas. He ran a team out there before relocating to Las Vegas. He brings a Solid Stick and experience with him.

Danny Michelin - Danny drafted by the Sandvipers will help the Sandvipers in the Outfield. He brings some much needed speed and a willingness to learn.

Posted Jan 21/12 - Spring 2012 Season Starts Feb 5 2012

The 2012 Season is upon us. All Sandvipers players need to fill out the paper work in the Handouts section. You will not be eligible to play til the paperwork is turned in. Deadline for this paperwork is Monday night. You can email it back, or bring to the next Batting Practice.

Hitting: We will hit Monday night at 7pm at Shepards, and every Monday after. If you cannot make Mondays and want to plan an additional time I am free to throw most any evenings.

Season starts February 5th 2012. Schedule should be out soon, soon as it is posted you will know.

Tournaments: We need to decide if we would like to participate in the upcoming Tournaments:

NABA has extended a special discount for local teams, so it keeps our participation fee down. We may also link up with another team for these tourneys, but is up to you guys if you would like to have me contact other managers and see what they would like to do.

Tournament Dates:

Vegas Kickoff Classic - February 18 - February 20 (Las Vegas)

Vegas Memorial Day - May 26 - May 28

Let me know if you would like to play, if we have enough guys we can participate.

Posted Nov 17/11 - Chris Ponto hangs it up

A 3 time MVP Chris has decided that the 2011 Sandvipers season will be his last. Chris ended the year hitting .471, Hitting 8 Homeruns and driving in 54 Runs. Having one of the best individual seasons ever in 2010 Chris won 3 consecutive MVP awards including his 2011 Weekday Co-MVP. His bat will be missed with the Sandvipers. In the future Chris and his wife are looking forward to having their baby. The Sandvipers family would like to wish Chris good luck!

The Las Vegas Sandvipers now in there 4th year of existence are a competitive adult baseball team playing in the "Las Vegas National Adult Baseball Organization" as well as various national tournament throughout the year. The team consist of former pros and college players.
