Mounties continue to grind through long season!

Posted June 24, 2012

The Vancouver Mounties who have been up and down lately hoped that this weekend was the start of getting their game back in order.  The Mounties who had lost 4 in a row including a devastating 19 - 1 loss last week to Cloverdale Black had only one way to go and that was up.

Although the Mounties game is still not where it needs to be, the boys played hard and had a lot of fun in the Tournament Capital of Canada.  On Saturday the Mounties defeated the Riverdogs 10 - 0 and then in the 2nd game with the Riverdogs leading 1 - 0 the skies opened up putting an end to the day of baseball.

On Sunday the Mounties won the 1st game by a 13 - 0 score.  The suspended game was then played and the Mounties scored a couple of runs and went on to a 3 - 1 victory!

The Mounties success was inspired by great pitching, and much improved defence including 4 double plays and 6 runners thrown out stealing.  A special thanks goes out to all the Kamloops parents who worked diligently getting the field back into shape each day so the boys could play.
