Hollanders "squeeze" out victory

Happy Sunday!
The Hollanders went on the road today to take on the Green Isle Irish. The Irish started the game hot with 3 singles in the bottom of the first. However, Eichner would escape the jam only allowing 1 run.
The game would stay quiet until the 7th. Casey Clemensen would draw a 1 out walk followed by Carter Clemensen reaching base on an error and a Max Wiegert walk to load the bases. Kyle Twait delivered a single to tie the score at 1. Zack Nelson put down an RBI squeeze bunt and beat out the throw. While the play was being disputed, Wiegert would alertly come around to score while the ball was still in play, as no time had been called by the Irish. Twait advanced to 3rd on the same play. Score was now 3-1 in favor of Cologne. Brandon Fritz pinch hit and put down a squeeze bunt of his own to score another run. Green Isle went down harmlessly in the bottom of the 7th and the Hollanders went into to the 8th leading 4-1.
In the top of the 8th, Casey and Carter both singled followed by a Wiegert walk to load the bases. Twait delivered again with a 2 RBI single to extend the lead 6-1. In the bottom half, the Irish got 2 back on a 2 run homer to make the score 6-4 but Cologne would stop the bleeding there.
The Irish threatened again the 9th but Zack Nelson was able to shut the door for a 6-4 Hollander win.
Alex Eichner started on the mound, tossing 7 great innings allowing only 1 run on 7 scattered hits. Another great TEAM win!
