WOW, What a typical great section game. A back and forth battle with both teams wanting this win bad. Bottom 1st Smothers led off with a double, went to 3rd on the throw, KP grounded out, Smothers scored 1-0 Bottom 2nd Eric reached 2nd on a throwin error Lang got him to 3rd, Dean singled him in. 2-0 Top 3rd Delano answered back with 2 runs on 3 hits and 2 Walks, they left the bases loaded, 2-2 Bottom 5th Copas singled, Smothers walked ,Jonshon singled, KP hit a grounder to 1st, stepped on 1st for out #2, ut Copas beat the throw at home 3-2 Plato Top 6th A clutch 2 out hit by Muckenhirn scored 2 runs, and the Athletics take the lead 4-3. Bottom 6th Here come the Bluejays right back, with runners on 1st and 2nd 2 outs, Smothers hit a ball in the hole to SS, and the long throw got away from 1st baseman, and Dean scores, 4-4. Bottom of the 8th Boomer leads off with a single, Copas sac bunts him over, Boomer moves to 3rd on wild pitch, then Smothers doubles him in, 5-4 Bluejays Delano had runners on 2nd and 3rd in bottom of the 9th, but Smothers stranded them and Plato gets a hard fought section win. Smothers went all 9 , scattering 12 hits for the win. The Bluejays offense collected 12 hits and needed them all. |
