Notes:
If Plato wanted 1st place and a bye they needed to get by the Lakers of Maple Lake. In the 2nd after a walk and a single, then a sac bunt, and RBI ground out made it 1-0. Then Smothers had a infield single with the bases loaded to make it 2-0. Bottom of the 4th Boomer hit a homer and the Bluejays were up 4-0. Then the Lakers got their running game going. Down 4-0 the Lakers had runners on 2nd & 3rd with 2 outs in the 5th. The runner at 3rd was stealing home, and the throw got by Copie and great hustle from the runner on 2nd, plated him as well 4-2 .Bluejays held on from their and thats how it ended. Tony went all 9 with 110 pitches. The Bluejays win section 8 and get 1st with a 1st round bye. Now play next Saturday in Hutch at 4pm vs the winner or D/C and Maple Lake. This was a great battle, and a great crowd on hand to see it. The Playoffs start weds for the #4 & #5 seeds and #3 and #6 seeds thurs. All games will be played in hutch. |
