Notes:
The Bluejays come up a game short of the Class B state tourney with a 8-3 loss to the Marshall A's. This was a great series and we pushed Marshall hard but in the end, the pitching depth was to much to over come. Home field advantage was never so huge in a playoff series. The drive was a killer,and we suffered from bus legs for the 1st couple inns. Smothers got the start, only his 2nd career start. He took one for the team going, 6 1/3, giving up 10 hits and 7 runs. The Bluejays had some chances but some key calls and other mishaps got in the way. The bases were left loaded in atleast 3 inns. Congrats to the Marshall A's, and good luck in the tourney. Thanks to all the fans who packed the bus and cheered us on! More pictures to come of the playoff series.See ya in 2009!! |
