Well the Legends 2016 Home opener got off to a shakey start, as the starting pitcher Al Schill, didnt make it out of the bullpen. Apparently pulling a glute muscle, was forced to play 1st for 3 innings. Pundick, who was warming up Schill, got the nod, and the legends fell behind 2-0 . We chipped away and Pundick had much better 2nd and 3rd inninings, even though we booted the ball around, and tied things up. Rookie Keith Fluet had some great hits, pitched 3 innings, played shortstop, and ended up catching the last 2 innings, (the guy is all world). But the story of the day was the play of veteran LEE POWELL! Yes, your reading that right. Lee ran down 2 fly balls, had a couple of hits, and was named the LSOTG , (Legends Sunflower of the game). All in all, the pitching was great, Pundick, Fluet, and closer Lacate, all had great outings, our defence needs some work, couple of yippy throws, and easy outs got away from us. The Legends bats were good, some timley hits with runners on base, gave us the 10-7 victory and first W of the season. Next up for the Legends , in Vancouver next Saturday to take on the defending 2015 champs, Vancouver Pirates.
