Athletix Pro Football Pool results
The Nanaimo Minor Baseball Association is very excited to announce its new 2013 Fundraising Program!
Nanaimo Minor Baseball will embark on one of its largest fundraising initiatives ever with an end goal to raise $29,000 before September 1st, 2013 with the 2013 Pro Football Pool. Like all fundraising efforts, the NMBA is looking to all its members for their help and support in making this initiative a success.
Each player registered with NMBA will be receiving three $20 booklets from their coach to sell. With each booklet, the buyer has an opportunity to win up to $250 in cash each week of the 2013 NFL Regular Season. The best part is that they don’t have to do ANYTHING! Simply buy the booklet, check the weekly scores (if you want), and wait to win one of 5 cash prizes per week for 17 weeks! Each booklet contains a ticket with 17 weeks of pre determined team combinations, and the combination with the most points scored at the end of each week wins $250.
Although selling the tickets is not mandatory, we strongly encourage each player to try their best in selling their 3 tickets as all of the money raised will go directly back to the Nanaimo Minor Baseball Association. So what exactly does the NMBA plan to do with the money it raises? They plan on upgrading player equipment and uniforms, investing in coach development and much more! This means that with each ticket sold, the benefits to the players increase.
The family which sells the most tickets will receive 1 free registration for the 2014 baseball season. So when you sell your first three tickets and are looking for more, make sure to call 250-754-2221.
In addition to looking to its members for support in selling the tickets, the NMBA Executive Board Members will also be going out into the community throughout the summer to sell as many tickets as possible in an effort to reach our final goal of raising $29,000!
If you have any questions please feel free to also ask your coach, division manager, or call the NMBA Administrator at 250-754-2221.
I hope everyone has had an opportunity to get their Fundraising Tickets from their coach. I wanted to send out a quick reminder regarding the processes of selling the tickets as I have received a few questions. When selling the tickets it is very important that you ask the purchaser to complete the personal information form INSIDE each ticket. This information is then to be handed back to the coach with the cash sales. If this personal information is not collected then the purchaser will have no way to receive their prize(s).
NMBA would like to thank two local businesses who have generously sponsored two of our divisions for the 2013 Season. Their financial support helps fund association costs such as uniforms, equipment and umpire fees for these divisions.
· McDonalds Restaurants and owners, Brenda and Wayne Krawchuk, are sponsors of the T-Ball and Rookie Divisions (ages 5-7)
· Regional Recycling Nanaimo and General Manager, Paul Shorting, are the sponsors of the Mosquito Division (ages 10-11)

OLD UNIFORMS GOING TO A GOOD CAUSE
Gary and Yvette Schulenberg contacted NMBA uniform co-ordinator’s recently looking for any used baseball equipment to be sent on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. The couple are involved in the Bethel Baptist church in Duncan, which already has missionaries in Dominican Republic and Jamaica but also sending more in the New Year. This has given NMBA an opportunity to donate over a hundred jerseys and hats to be sent with the group. The group is set to depart January 17, 2013 and if you know of any other baseball equipment that could be put to a good use please email Cameron Strachan (NMBA uniform co-ordinator) at email@example.com
We are sure the jerseys and hats will bring some smiles to the local children, and we were happy to help especially in the upcoming Christmas season!
