2012 NMBA Bantam and Pee Wee Single Season Team Info
Happy new year to all 2012 Bantam and Peewee eligible players.
For the upcoming season, NMBA intends to roster both Bantam AAA, AA and Peewee AA teams (as well as house teams in both divisions).
The Bantam AAA team will be competing in the BC Minor AAA league featuring teams from Vancouver Island (5), the Lower Mainland (8), and the Okanagan (2). The Bantam AA team will have an island specific component for the spring expanding to encompass lower mainland teams into the summer. League play for both teams will commence in April and could extend into late July and early August should either team advance beyond provincials.
The Peewee AA team will begin an island exhibition schedule in early April through June. The team will largely morph into the summer Peewee AAA team. Separate tryouts for this team will be scheduled in June. The Peewee AAA summer season could extend into August if the team advances beyond provincials.
Age eligible players committed to playing baseball at an elite level are encouraged to tryout for these teams via preseason indoor activities planned to begin later this month. Times and dates will be forthcoming. Please continue to visit the NMBA website regularly for further information.
2012 All Star Team Coaches
The NMBA intends to field Bantam AAA, Bantam AA and Pee Wee AA teams in Spring 2012. Consideration will be given to fielding a Midget AAA team if there is sufficient interest.
Applications are being accepted for Head Coach positions. Please complete the 2012 Coach Application, found in the Handout section of this site. Interested parties are encouraged to submit an application at their earliest convenience. The application deadline is January 1st 2012.
Bantam AAA and Midget AAA are single season teams. Their seasons start in April and run to August.
Bantam AA is a spring team. It is expected that the NMBA will field a summer Bantam AA team under the same coach.
Pee Wee AA is a spring team. NMBA will field a summer Pee Wee AAA under the same coach.
Please note: applications for summer all star team coaches will be accepted at a later date. (ie. Pee Wee AA, Mosquito A and AAA and Tadpole.)
Applications should be submitted to NMBA President, Scott Leaf at scott.leaf.nmba@gmail.com.
