Posted July 20, 2016

The Burnaby Braves defeated the Vancouver Community Mounties 9-6 in a Wednesday evening exhibition game at Kensington Park. The Braves played consistent defence and had quality at bats throughout the game. Jack Yaremko, Michael Briglio, and Kaz Kada had multi-hit games to lead the offense. Evan Hoegler threw four innings, striking out six to pick up the win. Michael Briglio threw 2 2/3 quality innings of middle relief to pick up his team leading first hold of the season. Lucas Grant entered the game with two out and the tying run on deck in the 7th, and fought back in the count to record the final out and pick up his first save of the season. The Braves are off for the rest of the week before a nine day preparation begins for provincials in Nanaimo.
