Southwest VA Juniors volleyball

We are now accepting official signups for the 2008/09 season. To join SWVJ go to the handouts button on the left side of the screen and once it is open download all the forms listed there except the jump training program. Follow the instructions listed in the "2009 sign up instructions". You will mail all the documents directly to the director once you are finished, along with your dues. If you have been involved with club volleyball before, you have already been through "Sign up to play". Everyone, however, needs to go into "signuptoplay" and update their information. Follow all the instructions carefully, especially about mailing your info to me and the timelines involved. Please see the list of complete training dates and tentative tournaments dates listed below.

Welcome back to SWVJ! Our 2008/09 season is set to start. We will have first practices and signups beginning in November. We are expecting 50 athletes this season. We hope to see all of you soon on our practice courts.

Southwest Virginia Junior Volleyball Club- LLC

Welcome to the cyberhome of Southwest Virginia Junior Volleyball Club,LLC. Our mission is to provide young women with access to the latest volleyball techniques, tactics and training methods while stressing sportsmanship and character development.

SWVJ is now in it's third year. In the first season, 2006/07, SWVJ hosted 54 athletes in 4 age divisions and completed throughout Virginia and North Carolina. In our 2007/08 season we had over 60 athletes in 5 age groups. Our 13s teams played in 4 events, the 14s in 8 events, our 15s and 16s in 9 events. This year SWVJ will offer a team at the 18s level, and will also host teams at the 13s, 14s, 15s, 16s and 17s levels. SWVJ is the largest club in the New River Valley and now draws athletes from Roanoke, Floyd, Blacksburg, Wytheville, Salem, Christiansburg, Carroll Co., Galax, Radford, and Bristol. The thrust of our programs is training our young athletes in the skills and strategies to allow them to develop into a solid, able volleyball players.

Current team membership status: 18-Blue is now full 16-Blue has 1 opening. 18-Red has 1 or 2 openings 14-Blue:OPEN and we could add 4 to 6 players. If your age group is currently full, we may well be opening additional teams in some age groups and/or moving some players around. It is also possible that team makeup may change since our first practice is still quite a way off.
Re-enrollment period for all levels is now open. Contact the director with questions.

2008/09 Training dates: Nov. 16, 23, Dec. 7, 14, Jan. 4, 11, 18, 25, Feb. 1, 8,15, 22, March 1, 8, 22, April 5, 19. Shamrock Tournament: March 14-15, Revolutionary Rumble Tournament: March 28-29. One more 2 day event will hopefully be added and five other tournaments will be scheduled.
