8-18-09 - Final Stats have been updated

8-18-09 - Your Dousman Frogs ended the season last week with a few new experiences and disappointments.  With their 11-7 loss to Delevan the Frogs needed a few favors from other teams, mainly Mukwonago, to make the 6th seed of the playoffs.  Well, everything ended up working out and your Frogs went to the playoffs for the first time in over two decades!  With heads held high, Dousman walked onto the field for their first playoff match-up against Waterford on Saturday.  Dave Roberts owned the mound that day throwing harder than I’ve seen him throw in a while.  Dave did his job by holding the Rivermen to only a few hits, couple walks and 6K.  Dousman, again, didn’t have the run support.  Key hits came from J-Rad, Wambold and Doo.  Even though there was a lack of scoring, the Frogs still had them 2-1 in the bottom of the 9th.  With a quick few bloop singles Waterford came back to win it, 3-2.  All disappointment set aside, this year was a blast for us and I wouldn’t change a thing.  Next year the Frogs don’t just want a taste of the playoffs, they’re going to want the whole damn thing!  I know J-Rad will sorely be missed, but don’t be too discouraged, we’ve got a few tricks up our sleeves. Doo, out.

Don't forget about our party!!  See bottom for details!

8-4-09 Stats have been updated

8-4-09 After all of the mock scenarios have been evaluated, it is official, one more win gets us in the playoffs and two will most likely make us the 5th seed.

8-4-09  Sunday was good but not great for your Dousman Frogs.  They hosted Burlington for a double dip and ended up splitting.  Keaton Wigdal started the first game going 5 innings with 5ER and 5K.  He earns the win with help from J-Rad’s save in the end.  RBIs came from Dave Roberts, Danny Wester and Craig Wambold to finish this game 8 to 7.  Game two wasn’t nearly as eventful…for Dousman.  Tim Gotzler, who has proven to be nothing less than lights out, wasn’t himself Sunday, giving up 13 hits and the loss.  David Roberts has the only RBI hitting Doo in from second. Final score, 7 to 1.

7-27-09  -  Stats have been updated

7-27-09  -  Dousman lost to the East Troy Express yesterday in an irregular way.  The final was 9 to 7 but the Frogs got an unusual early lead. The top of the first started with an RBI single coming from Doo and J-Rad.  These hits were then topped off with a two run skate park bombing from Dave Roberts.  These 4 early runs would later be followed by 3 additional which included 2 solo shots from Doo and J-Rad.  From this point on the bats quieted down a bit and ET’s bat wouldn’t quit.  Tim Gotzler threw a good game, not great but good enough to win (as usual) Great ET hitting and mediocre Frog defense were the causes of this loss.  If the bats stay this hot, no question the defense will get back to its’ stellar self.  Next up… Burlington!  Keep on it guys!

7-21-09 Divisional and Non-Divisional Stats have been updated

7-21-09 This weekend your Dousman Frogs have entered a team together in the Dousman Derby Days softball tournament!  Come watch!!

7-21-09   My apologies for the website update delays, but it’s been quite a busy couple of weeks. On Saturday (July 11th) Your Dousman Frogs beat the NP Dawgs at home 4-1.  Tim Gotzler pitched all nine innings and gave up only one earned.  The cherry on top was J-Rad’s 2 run yack in the 8th.  Last Sunday the Frogs hosted the Waterford Riviermen for a double dip and came up scratching their heads.  Total team collapse and we’ll leave it at that.  Tonight the Frogs play another exhibition game in what I can only explain as the worst baseball conditions I ever experienced…Burlington.  What a waste it is to have such a gorgeous field positioned towards the setting sun and smothered with Buick size mosquitos.  Wish us luck!

-  7-7-09   Stats have been updated

-  J-Rad, Doo, and Maytas owe a case each for their first HR of the year.

-  Frogs owe Timmy and Dave a case for the Mustache cooler award. (9 Ks each)

7-7-09   Dousman beat Delavan last Friday 12 to 2.  Your Frogs only had 10 players but it was plenty when the bats are as hot as they were.  No need to list all the hits but congrats to the Frogs for yet again showing the league that things have changed around Dousman and that we’re here to win.  Frogs play an exhibition game this Wednesday in Burlington and then host the North Prairie Dawgs on Saturday.  Keep it going guys!

The 2009 SW LOL All-Star Team is located in "Talk Smack"

7-1-09  Stats have been updated

Congratulations to Tim Gotzler for making the 2009 SW LOL All-star team with very impressive stats!

10 to 4 the Cocks beat us but don’t let the score fool you.  This game was tied 4 to 4 all the way to 10th inning.  A few brutal Dousman errors and a couple clutch Sullivan hits were to blame in this game.  The four runs came from a hit by Andy Williams then a 2 run yack from J-Rad, next inning Doolittle hits a solo shot and then David Roberts scores on a past ball.  Tim Gotzler goes 8 innings and performs not at his best but good enough to win if the Frogs gave him more run support.  After that Dousman hits diminished and Sullivan kept on hackin’.  The nail in the coffin was hit when Kris Sagert hit J-Rad’s belt high “2-seamer?” in the seats for a salami.

6-23-09   Frogs: Stats have been updated

6-23-09   This Sunday (28th) is the annual Old Timers Game at Dousmans Corey Park against Sullivan.  Game time is noon and then the new Frogs play at 2.  Come and watch!

6-22-09   Two games were played on Sunday against the Genessee Rebels and only one is worth mentioning.  Game 1 started really slow for the Frogs.  The hitting and defense were nonexistent but yet again Tim Gotzler's pin-point pitching and fast pace were stellar to say the least.  The Dousman bats finally came alive in the 6th inning with key hits and RBI coming from Santora, Mcgavock, Roberts and Doolittle.  With the game all tied up in the 7th, Gotzler says "let me finish it" by taking us all the way to the 10th.  With some quality AB and a few Rebel hiccups, Tim walks away with another "W" 10 IP, 2 ER, 9 Hits, 2 BB, 1 HBP and 2 Ks. Final score: Dousman 8 Rebels 6. Now all were going to mention from game two is that one of our new pitchers, Keaton Wigdal, did a hell of damage control job after the horendous first two innings. Hitting, feilding, pitching, common sense, knowing which direction was up.. all were gone. Final score: Genessee 13 Dousman 3.  All in all it's good to see a newbie keep his head high when everyone else seems to have thrown in the towel.

6-10-09 - Practice is cancelled today. See you all on Friday.

6-8-09      Well the Frogs split yesterdays DH against the Rome Raiders and minor hints of disappointment are in the air.  Game one ended 0-7 with Rome getting the “W”.  Your Dousman Frogs seemed to be catching some Z’s out there, showing very little pep.  Dousman’s starter, Tim Gotzler, threw a good game, not his best, but enough to win. 4K and 2BB were the totals and they would have been enough if the defense and hitting would have shown up.

Game two was a different story.  Dave Roberts started the game and ended with 5K and 7BB in 5IP.  Not a solid outing by the usually “Lights Out” pitcher but the defense picked it up and the sticks were on fire.  Justin Radical finished what Dave started by throwing the 6th and 7th innings and collecting only 1 hit and 2K.  With an end score of 8-3, the Frogs proved the non-believers wrong once again. Big hits came from Craig Wambold, Joe Santora, and Greg Matyas.  Andy Williams has a few QABs and touches home 3 times.  Greg Matyas yells, “Bartender! Solo Shot!” and hits his career first HR for a much needed insurance run.

Kudos to all the pitchers who had to deal with that inconsistent and unbelievably tight zone; and for all who can’t get over the bad calls (myself included)…Lance was safe and Hauk was out on the DP.  Not to mention Dave's bases-loaded """"strike-out?"""" Must have been pretty bad if the winning team mentions it on their own website, right?  Next up... What I thought would be a tough one, Genoa City, but after yesterdays shenanigans I'm 2nd guessing.

6-1-09 - Once again your Dousman Frogs have proved the Oracle to be incorrect by defeating the Lakers 3-0 and 3-1 in a doubleheader yesterday.  Blake Rowe started on the mound for the Frogs and went all 7 innings with 5K and 2BB, but Blake’s one-hitter wasn’t enough for the Frogs yesterday.  Dave Roberts started the second game and threw a just as impressive game by going all 7 innings with 6K and 1BB.  So far this year your Dousman Frogs have a team ERA of 1.13!!! Craig Wambold, Andy Williams and Adam Doolittle each had three hits, scored, and had an RBI.  Other big hits came from Greg Matyas, Justin Radical and Joey Gramann.  Offensively, the Frogs are obviously doing enough but might need to step it up if they want to beat the harder hitting teams.  June 7th the Frogs take on the Rome Raiders in a DH at their home Corey Park and boy do they look ready.  Keep it rollin’ guys!

5-28-09  Frog players: Divisional and Non-Divisional Stats have been posted and money owed has been placed on the roster page.  Money due on Sunday.

5/24/09 - Your Dousman Frogs took a tough one today beating the East Troy Express 2 to 1.  As always a pitchers duel started early.  David Roberts throws an absolute gem by going all nine innings with 6K and 3BB. East Troys Shaffer also goes 9 and throws a 3 hitter but proves it wasn't enough to take out the Frogs.  Dousman shows big improvment by not only beating the tough Express but by winning a small ball type game.  Two years ago the Frogs don't win this type of game and yet again show they mean business.  Next stop, Mukwonago!

Good luck with the changes guys (The Executive & Doc) We'll do you proud!

5/18/09 - Your Dousman Frogs played an exhibition game yesterday and beat the Waukesha Firebirds 8-1.  This eastern team wasn’t quite as competitive as the Frogs would have hoped but they did give them a run for their money in the early innings.  Due to the fact that this was an exhibition game, the Frogs made many switches. Five punch-outs and 2 freebies were tallied for the pitching crew consisting of Blake Rowe, Keaton Wigdal, Greg Matyas, Joe Santora, and Justin Radical.  This well rounded group of hurlers proved that the Frogs have many options on the mound, considering the two main starters weren’t in the picture. (Roberts and Gotzler) With many other starters out of the lineup, the Frogs sure did stick.  The hitting performance was lead by Brian Kopinski, Joe Santora, Jake Moore, Andy Williams, and Justin Radical. Next up… The Express!

Frogs lost a tough one today against the NP Dawgs 2 to 4.  Defense and hitting were definatly lacking.  Dave Roberts and Tim Gotzler combine for a total of 12K and 1 ER.  Big hits came from Justin Radical, Greg Matyas, Adam Doolittle and Dave Roberts.  Frogs show a minor setback today but don't get used to it!  We'll be back!

Stats have been added to the menu..Check em' out!

5/5/09  -  Roster has been updated

5/3/09  -  The Frogs take a 5 to 4 win over the Sullivan Cocks today.  Tim Gotzler is proving himself to be one of the best pick-ups in years. Tim goes 7 innings with 2 earned runs, 6 K and 0 BB.  Key hits came from Gramann, Matyas, A. Williams, Radichal and B. Williams.  Justin Radichal also proves he's just not a bat by throwing an 8th and 9th inning shut-out with 4 Ks.  Beating the very solid playing Cocks, Konkol and Roberts-less just might be the proof that the Frogs could be the real deal this year.

4/26/09  -  Seems the Rain Gods Feel like Cuttin' the Dawgs Some Slack.

4/22/09   -The Rome Raiders cranked out a 7-0 win over the Genesee Rebels last weekend, but does that mean Rome is legit this year or Genesee isn't quite the team without the Carroll studs?  Only time will tell!

Team Duties will be split up into 3 groups:

Group #1 will handle the HR fence

Group #2 will handle lines, bases and Batters box
