| PFLUGERVILLE -- The annual three-day Pflugerville Panther JV and Freshmen Tournament, hosted by the Panthers, kicked off with wins for the Panthers on Thursday, Dec. 1. All games are being played at Pflugerville's Panther Gym which houses two courts. Games take place on Friday, Dec. 2 and concludes on Saturday, Dec. 3. The JV tourney is a 12-team field and undefeated Pflugervile moved to 9-0 with Thursday's win over Bowie. The Panthers will play at 1 p.m. Friday against the winner of the Stony Point-Vista Ridge Thursday night game. There are 16 teams in the Freshmen field, and both the Panther Gold (A) and Blue (B) teams are competing. The PHS freshman Gold defeated Westlake's A frosh squad, 46-37 behind guard Alyssa Washington (game-high 26 points) and Taylor Fletcher (10 points) to move to 9-0. The Panther Gold team next faces Westwood at 10 a.m. Friday. The Panthers' Blue squad lost to McNeil's A freshmen team, 46-15 and will play again at 8:30 a.m. Friday. |
