Posted Feb 22/13 - Bobcats Roll Past Ranch 2-0

It wasn't always pretty, but the Cy Fair Bobcats earned 3 points for their 2-0 win over the Cy Ranch Mustangs.  Cy Ranch threatened early with a solid strike that hit off the cross bar and the Bobcats countered only to see their strike also hit off the crossbar.  The Bobcats maintained possession and had several scoring opportunities but struggled to get on the scoreboard.  The game was stopped briefly at the 22 minute mark after an on-field altercation.  One player from both teams received a Red card so each team was forced to play with only 10 players for the remainder of the game.  Once again, Senior scoring sensation Geoff Orihel got the Bobcats first goal with 12 minutes left in the first period.

The Bobcats continued to be the aggressor but struggled to put away their scoring chances.  With 10 minutes left, Aaron Hastings scored off a header to give the Bobcats a comfortable 2-0 lead.  The defense lead by Seniors Travis Hastings, Tripp Manzella and Francisco LoSauro are credited with Cy Fair's second consecutive clean sheet. Cy Fair remains in 2nd place and just two points behind Langham Creek in District 17-5a play.  Cy Fair is now 5-1-2 and will host Cy Falls on  Tues 2/26 at 7pm.

Posted Mar 27/12 - Bobcats draw 0-0 to Cy Creek
Cy Fair had a flurry of scoring opportunities but had to settle for a 0-0 draw against Cy Creek.  The Bobcats are fighting for the final playoff spot and will have to win against Jersey Village on Friday to secure their spot in post season play.  From start to finish, the Bobcats applied offensive pressure and created plenty of scoring opportunities but they were denied by either good goal keeping or just not being able to put the ball in the net.

The second half saw more of the same action with Cy Fair controlling the attack but they came up empty on each scoring attempt.  Midway through the second half, Cy Fair celebrated what seemed to be the first goal of the match but it was overruled by the side judge who had a clear line of site that the ball didn't completely cross over the line.  Cy Creek had several scoring opportunities off of set pieces but was denied by strong goalkeeping from Sophomore Jose Izquierdo.

Cy Fair trails Cy Lakes in the playoff race by one point and will have a chance to clinch their playoff spot in the final game (rescheduled from rainout) of the season at Jersey Village on Friday at 7pm.
