Reflectors Are Champions in O'Neill
O'Neill, NE-The Freeman Reflectors came away with the O'Neill Invite Championship Plaque over the weekend. On Saturday, they defeated the host team 11-3. Troy Alley picked up the win going 5 innings and striking out 8. At the plate Kyle Auch went 4-4. In the second game on Saturday, Freeman defeated Gordon, NE by a score of 6-5. Kyle Auch recorded the win going 5 innings and allowing only one hit. Macon Oplinger came on in the 7th inning with the guys on second & third with two outs to record the save. Bruckner and Oplinger each had two hits. In what turned out to be the championship game for the Reflectors, they defeated Creighton, NE 2-1 in 9 innings to claim the title. Oplinger went all 9 innings for the win. He struck out 13 and gave up only 4 hits. He also was able to get out of a bases loaded and no out jam in the 8 inning. Freeman's winning run scored on a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the 9th. Next up will be a single game against Platte in Parkston on Monday night. Game time is 7pm. Then, Freeman will host Burke on Wednesday night in Freeman. Game time is also 7pm.
