BANTAM TIER 1

Welcome to the Oak Ridges Diamonds Bantam Tier 1 website. You will find our schedule and updated game and tournament results along with practice times, game and tournament schedules and other important team information will be added as the season progresses.

I would like to formally introduce my two Assistant Coaches for the 2011 season. Mike Slack who was the Head Coach 2010 Bantam Tier 2 coach of the Oak Ridges Diamonds and former Assistant Coach of the 2009 Oak Ridges Bantam Tier 1 team.  Kevin Shaughnessy comes from the 2010 Oak Ridges Diamonds Tier 1 Novice team that won several tournaments during the previous season. Scott Russell has also agreed to help out in one of their absences and generously agreed to carry all our equipment as well. (Thanks Scott)


Christmas is approaching fast and we have now completed almost two full months of twice a week workouts. The workouts have been attended very well which is great to see with never less than 8 attending each night and most with more.

Will begin our hitting session in January once per week at Home Run Baseball Academy with Hubie and Melissa Basilio as coaches for these sessions. I already know that the girls will love both Hubie and Melissa as they are great coaches and more importantly great people who truly enjoy working with a group of motivated athletes like we have on our team. Hubie has trained several pitchers who have gone on to bright futures in softball both in the US at the NCAA level and also at the Canadian National Team level. Melissa is just back from a 4 or 5 year coaching position at the Division 1 Winthrop Eagles and has returned to take on an assistant coaches position with the Canadian Senior Women's National Team. We will be fortunate to have coaches of this calibre working with our kids.
