After a desperate finaly appeal Bud Selig announced the Atlanta Rangers will move to Destin Florida Indefinitely. The team was reportedly sold for 500 Million to Chuck Norris.

In six seasons the Rangers won 69 games and fell just 29 times. The two time division champions made it to the championship three times falling to the Atlanta Spikes in 2006 & 2008 and the Atlanta Giants in 2010

Rangers come up short against surging Jaxx
(Crowe) " First off I'm really proud of the season we had. Winning the division again and going 12-1 is nothing to be ashamed of. The playoffs are all about who is hot and going into the playoffs we played a little sluggish. That being said I really cant say how impressed I was with the Jaxx. They overcame a 6-0 defecit and put the hurt on us. They were the better team this weekend and deserve to be playing next week. I wish them and the Giants good luck and look forward to bouncing back next season." The Rangers looked dominant in game one with Travis McGee shutting down the Jaxx but Saturday was different. McGee wasnt around and neither was the Rangers offense for much of the day. One bright spot on the night was the five run rally that came just short of an incredible finish.

McGee fans 12 as Rangers take Game 1 against Jaxx
The Rangers hosted the Atlanta Jaxx in Game 1 of the Semi-finals Saturday at Campbell Middle School. The Rangers scored first on a wild pick off play that allowed both the runners on first and third to advance safely. The Jaxx had one on and no out in the second, but hit into a 5-4-3 double play, followed by a pop up to end the inning. Trailing 1-0 in the 4th the Jaxx lead off batter doubled off the centerfield wall to start the inning. The next batter hit a line drive up the middle that was snagged by pitcher Travis McGee, McGee caught the ball, then threw to second to double off the runner to clear the bases. This proved important as the next batter reached on a 2 out throwing error by the Rangers shortstop. The Rangers bats came alive in the bottom of the 5th, when Sanchez, Dickhaus, and Martinez reached on consecutive hits. The Rangers increased their lead to 3-0. Going into the bottom of the 7th with the score still 3-0 the Rangers added 4 more runs on hits by Mcdonald, Sanchez, and Kellar as well of a pair of walks issued by the Jaxx pitching staff. The Jaxx managed to get on the board in the top of the 8th when a fielding error by the pitcher allowed a batter to reach base, two batters later the runner would score on a fielding error by the Rangers third baseman. The Rangers added one more run in the bottom or the 8th and went on to win by a final of 8-1 in 9 innings. Travis McGee earned the "Player of the Game" throwing 7 innings and striking out 12 batters while allowing 2 hits and 0 earned runs.

***Rangers winning streak at Campbell alive and well***
With their 8-1 victory Wednesday night, the Atlanta Rangers extended their winning streak at Campbell middle to 17 consecutive games. The Rangers haven't fallen at Campbell since 2009 against the Atlanta Spikes. The Rangers will look to extend the streak to 18 games Saturday in game two of the semi-finals against the always tough Atlanta Jaxx. Jeremy Bryan will make the start in game two with the teams franchise leader in wins Bryan Myers available for a possible game three start or relief work.

The second best N.L team finished the season with a .308 win percentage, compared to the A.L's 6th place (last place) Reds team which posted a .385 win percentage.

This season Travis McGee has been perfect on the mound. In 23 innings pitched, Travis hasn't allowed a single run and has given up just 7 hits, while striking out 39 batters. The Rangers look to ride Travis's arm through the play-offs and hopefully their first MABL Championship.

Rangers sweep both games of double header
Game One: The Rangers trailed the Reds 3-1 threw the first 4 innings of the game. Only scoring one run on a solo home run to left centerfield from veteran Blake Cecil. However, the Rangers offense exploded in the bottom of the 5th scoring 5 runs on 2 hits, 2 walks, 2 HBP and an error. Justin McDonald picked up his first win of the season on the mound and Bryan Myers picked up the first Rangers save this season. Blake Cecil was player of the game going 2-2 with a home run and a double.
Game Two: Like game one, it was a close battle as the Crawdads held a 4-3 lead threw 4 innings. The Rangers tacked on 2 runs in the 4th to tie the game 4-4, then 3 runs in the 6th and 3 more over the next two innings to beat the Crawdads 10-3. DeAnthony Moses was player of the game, going 2-4 with a single, double, 2 runs scored, 2 RBI's and 2 stolen bases. The Rangers will have a bye in the first round of the play-offs and will wait to see who they play in the second round.

Rangers Hammer Stars 19-5  F/5
The Rangers came out Saturday night ready to play, after suffering their first loss of the season last week. The Rangers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st, on Mike Kellar’s second home run off the season. After the Rangers increased their lead to 6-0 in the top of the second, the Stars rallied back scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the inning to pull within 2. Over the next 3 innings the Rangers would pull away scoring 13 more runs. Brian Dickhaus hit his first home run of the season, a 3-run shot to left centerfield. Deanthony Moses stole 4 bases and went 2-4 at the plate. B. Dickhaus, J. McDonald and D. Mosses all had multiple hits for the Rangers. Next up for the Rangers is the Crawdads. Jeremy Bryan looked impressive in his first start since early June. Bryan pitched three innings mowing down 6 hitters and allowing 0 earned runs. Bryan had to pitch from the stretch due to some shaky defense but with 8 players missing Jeremy knew going in he would have to be patient with the defense.

RANGERS TWO ACES RETURN MAKE BOLD PREDICTION
The Rangers will welcome Jeremy Bryan and Travis McGee back Saturday and both hard throwing right handers predict the Rangers will surprise the league and win the first title ever for the Rangers formerly the Atlanta Indians. (Jeremy Bryan) " I cant say for 100% but when I'm on my game and my defense is dealing behind me it wont be easy to beat me or McGee on the hill."

 WELCOME BACK!
After missing the past month ace pitcher former KSU standout Jeremy Bryan will return to the Rangers starting rotation. (Myers) " Getting Jeremy back is huge. It's almost like making a big trade. He will give us a big lift and help us make a deep run in the playoffs. We didn't play to finish 2nd or 3rd this season. We have the talent to win the whole thing this year and we are going to do whatever it takes to make that happen." Also returning with Jeremy B is Travis McGee who will provide another huge lift on the mound. McGee has been perfect in 2011 with a 0.00 ERA throwing in the mid 80's with nasty off speed pitches. The Rangers will also welcome back their second leading hitter Austin Harris and veteran slugger Greg Kieck. (Crowe) " We needed some of this good news after the beating we took yesterday. We all know we can hang with the Giants but it will take a total team effort and we are going to need all of these guys to get the job done."

INJURY UPDATE
Drew Tedder was slated to pitch 3rd for the Rangers against the Giants but never took the mound due to shoulder stiffness. The lefty is day to day and will try to work an inning Saturday against the Stars.

Grant Crowe took a fastball off his right hand against the Giants. The X-RAYS came back negative and showed no break or fracture. With only mild damage to a flexor tendon Crowe hopes to return to the lineup this week.

Giants defeat Rangers 13-4  F/8
On a beautiful and hot Saturday afternoon, the Atlanta Rangers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Derek Sanchez tripled to right center then scored on a James Martinez ground out. The Giants answered back scoring 3 runs in the Top of the 2nd. The Rangers tied it up 3-3 in the bottom of the 4th on Michael Kellar's 2-run double off the left centerfield wall. However, the Giants increased their lead to 7-3 in the Top of the 5th, scoring 1 run on a miss played fly ball and 3 runs on a 3-run home run from 3rd basemen Daniel Dey. The Rangers failed to get their bats giong and the Giants added to there lead scoring 6 more runs over the next 4 innings. Manager Crowe said, "You can't walk 11 batters in 8 innings and expect to win. The Giants hit the ball well and played a great game. Jarry also pitched a great game in some scorching heat. We're going to try and get back in the win column next week and hopefully we'll see the Giants again in the play-off's." Next up for the Rangers is the (4-6) Stars.

Travis McGee tosses 3 hit complete game shutout.
The Rangers somehow found a way to win Saturday with 8 players. The key factor was Travis McGee. Travis tossed a complete game shutout with only seven players behind him in the field. (Tedder) " I was just trying to keep up with the outs and what inning it was but Travis pitched a heck of a game!" The Rangers pulled away in the 6th and 7th innings in route to their fourth consecutive win to start the season. (Crowe) " I had planned on throwing Jeremy but when he called in sick we planned on starting Alec or Travis and when Alec hits the ground in warm-ups with a knee injury you start thinking it could be a long night. I just hope Alec makes a fast recovery because he is a great guy to have on the field and in the dugout."

Rangers take over sole possession of 1st place after defeating the Jaxx

The Rangers jumped into first place Saturday after defeating the Atlanta Jaxx (3-1) 17-2 in a night game at Osbourne. The good guys jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the 1st and that proved to be more than enough for Alec Manfre who was asked to make his first start since last July. (Crowe) " We only had ten guys and, were missing four of our best arms so I knew Alec needed to give us some innings. Thankfully he pitched great like he did all of last season and gave us five great innings. That made the work load easy for Austin and Drew to close things out." The Rangers now 3-0 will turn their attention to the Cardinals who will host the Rangers on 6-4-11 at Campbell Middle at 7pm. Jeremy Bryan (1-0) will rejoin the team and make his second start of the season.

Rangers send the Wolf Pack howling

The Rangers took the field Saturday with another skeleton squad, but regardless of the missing some key players the Rangers defeated the Wolf Pack in a division game 9-1. The Rangers capitalized on key hits and played another solid game in the field committing just one error in the nine innning contest. Pitching was dominate once again with Jeremy Bryan making his first start going five innings allowing just one hit and one run after a two out walk scored on a triple down the right field line. Travis McGee also logged two strong innings shutting down the wolf pack while rookie Austin Harris shut the door in the 9th. Looking ahead the Rangers will face the 1st place Jaxx who lead the Rangers by a 1/2 game. (Crowe) "The Jaxx always play us tough. I expect a close game decided by 1-3 runs. As of now we have a handful of guys that are 50/50 on the game for various reasons but we will be ready with whatever squad we have."
