Dear Team:
This is a reminder of an exciting morning tomorrow! We will have no practice, but we will be playing for the coveted Pelham Cup. The Schedule for the Tournament is below. We will have three matches.
IMPORTANT: Please have your player wear an undershirt so she can reverse her jersey. We will be wearing red in the first and third matches, but will wear blue in the second match.
If you have not already done so, please make sure you let me know if your player will NOT be able to make the matches.
The tournament involves seeded divisions. Manchester United is playing in the highest division and has beaten two of the teams it will face and tied one of the teams it will face in regular season play. All players will receive a pin for participation. The winner of the Division will receive trophies. Games are "short" form 25-minutes games.
I know from experience how ties are handled. In one Pelham Cup, in the final match, the score ended tied. Our team then played its opponent for two 15-minute halves and ended the match . . . tied. We then went to two sets of five penalty kicks. Our team made 4 of the five kicks (with one sailing wide of the right post). The other team made all five penalty kicks -- a tough and crushing loss in a wonderfully hard-fought game!
Best regards,
Blake
