United South Football League
Everything on the Line
The Rush will take on the South Georgia Stars at 6:00pm at Longbranch Park. This weekend’s match-up produces a unique situation for the Rush. For the Rush it’s a “win and you’re in,” situation. The Rush control their fate with this week game. With a win they will solidify their place in the USFL playoffs. Currently stuck in a three way tie with the Stars and Gladiators, The Rush need a win this weekend to place their selves on top of the three and into the 5 place spot, granting them a coveted play-off spot. “Our guys know what’s on the line. They’re ready for the game and are in the right mindset.” Said co-owner Jeff Mueller “The win and in situation fits it perfect. It shows that in the USFL every game means something and every game matters. We’re ready to play and are looking to come out victorious.”
The weekend match-up will mark the second time the two teams meet. In the second game of the regular season the Rush traveled to Americus to take on the Stars in a losing effort. The game would remain close with the Rush having a last minute chance to take the lead. Look for another heavily contested game this weekend with both teams fighting for their spot in the 2009 USFL play-offs.
