Game 6  Black Spurs 6  White Rock 2

Cloverdale continued its theme of dominant pitching as Maz Williams had his regular season debut going 5 innings and only allowing 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 10 batters to take the win with Mariano Reesevera coming in for his second official save of the year but 5th  close out of the season 

Offensively the sticks were quiet but effective when they needed to be, but some waky base running cost us some runs, right Sloan. I said look at Jeff, not run over to Jeff this instant. Anyways I digress . Another home run by Sparky and a nice 2 out double to score a run by Jake helped seal the deal.

 

Game 5  April 22  Spurs 13  Victoria Red 1

Cooper was strong on the hill only allowing 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 7 finishing the game himself

The bats finally came alive everyone reaching base at least once and 2 more blasts coming of the Bats of Leclaire and LaFlamme. Macdonald had a great at bat fouling off 4 2 strike pitches before he got on with a nice single to score 2. Malik drove in 3

Next up the Richmond Chuckers Tuesday in Richmond

Game 4 April 22       Black Spurs 6 Victoria Red 0

Another strong performance by the spurs. Pitching was dominate with a combined 3 hitter and 15 strikeouts.

Offensively Maz Williams had a great game with some clutch RBI's

 

 

Game 3 April 16 Black Spurs 11 Richmond 6

On a very cold night the spurs started with a bang , sputtered in the middle and then finished strong to knock off the Richmond Chuckers.Gleason picked up the win going 3 1/3 innings giving up 4 runs and helped his own cause starting a 1-6-3 double play with the bases loaded to get out of a jam in the first.

Frey came in and settled things down in the fourth and helped save the victory

Offensively  Leclair led the way with a game opening triple and fished the night 2 for 4 with 3 runs scored. Gentles continues to be an RBI machine with another couple tonight.

There were a couple of scary moments with the Condor getting hit in the beak and a Richmond player getting hit in the head which opened up a huge gash. Lets hope he is okay.

Game 1        April 10    Black Spurs 18 vs  Aldergrove 1

Spurs started the season with a bang , with a decisive decision over the Aldergrove Dodgers.

Cooper Misic picked up the win with a strong 2 hit 7 strike outs over 4 innings pitched outing.

Reese Frey came in to close it out striking out 3 of the 4 batters he faced.

Defense was solid with no errors, what a nice change though there was a few bad decisions that although weren't errors, in a close game they could come back to haunt us

With 18 runs scored its pretty hard to single out offensive stars , but Trevor Gentles led the way almost hitting for the cycle with a homer, double and single . Leclair had another blast and Godard stole 5 bases.

GAME 2    APRIL 12  BLACK SPURS 13 VS WHITE ROCK 3

Spurs continue to roll with an impressive victory over the visiting Tritons.

The game started out a little iffy with an lead off error that came back to score, but after that pitching was pretty good with 10 consecutive strike outs. Pitching ended up with Kristjan going the distance with 1 earned run on 1 hit and 14 strikeouts over 5 innings.

Offensively

 Frey and Storrie went 3 for 3 , Gleason had 3 rbi's and Kristjan had a home run

Defensively we had only 2 errors
