Game Cancellation Numbers

Roanoke County has changed their message to include cancellations by field and to call your clubs cancellation line for U8/U10.  Since our club does not have a cancellation line we will send out an email of U8/U10 game cancellations for the remainder of the current season.  The information below is still valid for all age groups U12 and up

Roanoke County 387-6455 ext 6  (All leagues U08 and up).  If Roanoke County CANCELS games/practices via the recording on or before 5pm....Vinton will NEVER supersede this decision.  No practices or games should be held.

If Roanoke County indicates games will be a "game time decision" (perhaps due to various local weather conditions), the referee should make the determination to play or not, based on visible field/weather conditions and the coaches pre-game meeting and discussion.   

Roanoke County Heat Policy : a) Actual temperature 100 degrees or above - All games and practices canceled. b) Heat Index of 100 degrees or above - All games canceled and practices limited to 1.5 hours.

A. Lightning Policy - If thunder is heard, be aware and keep a look out for lightning. If lightning is seen, all players and spectators shall be moved to a sheltered area or to their cars. Wait at least 20 minutes from the last streak of lightning to resume play or practice.
