| The host Saints rallied back from an early
3-0 deficit to win in the bottom of the ninth on a Jeff Mink single down
the 3rd base line that plated Ryan Wenner for the win. Jeremy Braun
got the win in relief of Tom Lacina in the 3rd inning. The Jays out hit St Peter 15-5 but were unable to have a break out inning on a beautiful eve in St Peter. John Somrock had 4 hits, Doherty and Goblirsch had 3 hits a piece and Kyle Zweber had 2 hits. Good relief pitching from A Damn Cress fell short in a valiant effort. Twas dainty. The Jays had 15 hits and couldn't find a way to stop giving St. Peter runs, or drive in their own runs at the plate. They will try again tonight in section action against Rosemount at 7:30pm. Lyle Zweber is your starting pitcher for the night. He enters the game with a 4-1 record, 0.97 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 39 innings of work. |
