ON THE JV SCHEDULE PAGE IT SAYS 2010, ALTHOUGH THE 2011 JV SCHEDULE IS NOW POSTED. THE YEAR WILL CHANGE AFTER THE NEW YEAR. SORRY IF THERE IS ANY CONFUSION!!

The improvement that has been made in the Longhorn Baseball Program can be seen in our JV program. Just two years ago (2009), the JV Longhorns played a total of three baseball games. Last year during the 2010 season, in Coach Nick Perkins first year at the helm of the JV program, the Longhorns played 12 baseball games, winning 8 of those, including a huge doubleheader sweep of the Unicoi County Blue Devils JV club at home. In 2011, the JV Longhorns will be playing at least 17 baseball games, including a trip to Bristol, TN, to take on the Tennessee High Vikings and a home and away doubleheader against the Unicoi County Blue Devils. We have also added the Elizabethton Cyclones to the 2011 JV schedule. Most JV baseball programs in our area either do not play many games, or are coached by a separate coaching staff from their Varsity squad. Coach Perkins not only runs the JV program, he is also a Varsity assistant. This allows our young players to receive Varsity level coaching before ever reaching the Varsity club. We are excited about the JV Longhorns.
