Posted Apr 19/10 - Longhorns lose season series to Happy Valley
The Longhorns lost a sloppy, 6-3 baseball game at Cannon-Gouge Park on Monday, against the Happy Valley Warriors. Cody Greer did what good pitchers do, he kept his team in the game even though he did not have his best stuff. It was just one of those days were the Longhorns could not get out of their own way. Unfortunately, there are days like that on the baseball diamond. Zack Hayworth, Sawyer Ward, Austin Humphrey, Tyler Fenner, Mark Jennings, David Lunceford, and Sammy Hampton all had hits for Johnson County. Humphrey, Fenner, Hampton, and Jennings all had doubles. Humphrey knocked in two runs on his extra base hit, and starting pitcher, Cody Greer, helped his own cause, by getting a run home on a 4-3 putout. The Longhorns travel to Unicoi County on Tuesday to battle the Blue Devils. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00.
