Posted May 3/12 - Senior Night/District 1 AA Tournament
Tonight, Thursday, May 3rd, we will honor our 2012 Longhorn Baseball senior class.  The JV game vs. the Cloudland Highlanders has been cancelled.  First pitch for the Varsity game is 4:30, with senior night festivities to follow.

*Senior, Bobby Taylor, will be this afternoon's starting pitcher.  It will be Taylor's first Varsity career start on the mound.  His work ethic and love for the game, and Longhorn Baseball in particular, does not go unnoticed by anyone associated with our baseball progam.  He hit over .300 on the 2011 JCHS JV club, including a three double, four RBI performance vs. the Sullivan East JV Patriots.

*Senior, Chad Hodgkiss, teamed with shortstop, Judd Hammons, to be the starting middle infield on the 2010 and 2011 JV Longhorn clubs that went a combined 18-10, and the Varsity middle infield during this 2012 season.  Hodgkiss has shown a great ability to bunt the baseball for hits with push and drag bunts, and when he is on his game, can hit the ball the other way (opposite field) as well as anyone.

*Senior, Andy Stout, has hit over .300 for his Varsity career and had a great 2010 season as the ace pitcher for the JV Longhorn club, including a dominating performance in a complete game win vs. the Unicoi County Blue Devils JV squad.

*I would hate to think of where we would be without senior, Dusty Stout.  Coming off of an impressive senior basketball season as point guard for Coach Austin Atwood, Dusty has played tremendous outfield defense and got some big hits this season, including three bunt singles in a Three Rivers Conference win at the Sullivan North Raiders.  D. Stout has hit .323 for the season.

*#23, Harley Reece, has been a run producer in our program since his 2010 sophomore year on the JV club.  He did not slow down as a 2011 Varsity starter.  Reece has belted six career home runs and hit over .300.  Harley has also been pitching the best baseball of his career recently.
