| Mark Jennings put the preseason work in this year and continues to work hard, and it is showing in his performance. The big, strong third baseman is hitting at an even .400 clip and has knocked in eight runs in only five games this season. He will be taking the ball today for the Longhorns against the Happy Valley Warriors. Jennings dominated the Warriors on Opening Day, as he threw a complete game two hitter. He struck out six Happy Valley batters and did not give up an earned run. Although he did not have his best "stuff" against he Sullivan North Raiders, Jennings did what a staff ace is supposed to do, and that's keep his team in the game and give them a chance to win. We had more than a chance in the first game of our doubleheader against the Raiders, as we stranded the tying run on second base to end the game. We look for #25 to continue to improve as this season continues. He is making up for lost time. Hope to see you at Cannon-Gouge Park today at Happy Valley High School. |
