Mark Jennings worked hard on his skill set in the preseason and it showed on Opening Day.  #25 went 4-5 at the plate with three doubles and three runs batted in.  That alone made it a monster game, but his best work was done on the mound.  Jennings was dominante in a complete game effort.  He struck out six, walked only three, and gave up only two hits in his seven innings of work.  Jennings was not the only Longhorn swinging the stick.  Sawyer Ward and Harley Reece both had 2 RBI doubles and Danny Herman and Sammy Hampton both had base hits for Johnson County.  Judd Hammons and Jacob Henson scored a combined five times from the first two spots in the order.  A full boxscore is available on the schedule page on the left. 

The JV Longhorns opened up the season with a win as well.  Jacob Henson got the win in the five inning game.  He did not give up any hits over his three innings and he struck out seven Warrior batters.  Ryan Mahala was just as dominant in relief.  Mahala struck out five Warriors in his two innings of work.
