| A hot and humid night in Prior Lake was home to the River Valley League battle between the Prior Lake Jays and the Victoria Vics. Prior Lake jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on a 2 run shot off the bat of Tim Garceau. The Vics quickly answered with a 3 run inning to regain the lead and hold it for 2 innings. Down 3-2 going into the 6th inning, the Jays piled on 6 runs and never looked back. Some late innings runs made this a victory for the Jays 9-4. Kyle Zweber started on the mound for the Jays earning his 1st Win of the season, lasting 6 innings and yielding 3 runs on 5 hits. Marshall Mullenbach and Tim Garceau pitched out of the pen for the Jays and held the Vics, to wrap up a 9-4 win. The Jays will travel to Inver Grove Heights for a Section 5 match up on Saturday June 4th at 5pm. The Jays look to make this early season hot streak continue as they travel to try and make it 5 in a row. The Jays will also be on the road on Sunday, June 5th as they go to Victoria for a River Valley League contest. |
