| It was a weekend full of events for the Prior Lake Jays. On Saturday May 14th, the team and friends enjoyed it's first annual golf outing at Creeks Bend Golf course in New Prague. 65, -6 under was the winning score coming from Tony Doherty, Kyle Zweber, John Leitch, Corey Goblirsch and Adam Cress. Congratulations guys! The Jays want to thank everyone for participating and enjoying the day. It was a very successful event for the Jays. Sunday afternoon marked the home opener for the Jays, as they took on Arlington with a 2pm first pitch. The top of the first started shaky with Arlington hoping on top 2-0 right away. The Jays answered back in the bottom of the 1st with 8 runs and never turned back. Literally everyone hit the ball. It was an afternoon filled with line drives and runs. John Somrock hit his first home run as a Jay, at the age of 90. Congrats to John and his family members in attendance. A random, "WHERE THE _ _ _ _ WAS THAT!?!?" came from a random right fielder on Arlington's team....at least it didn't come from the mound this time. Jays catcher Jake Pieper and first base coach from the A's are having a hair growing contest, more results to be posted later in the season. The Jays will take the field on Tuesday night at Thomas Ryan park in Prior Lake for "Townball Night" as they take a 4 innings exhibition with the Mudcats and enjoy a long ball show featuring Tim Garceau, UMD's all time Home Run Leader. Festivities will start at 7:30pm on Tuesday, the 17th of May. |
