| Posted Jun 9/16 - 2016 Season is underway... |
The 2016 edition of the Kildonan Mudcats is slowly getting started after a wet couple of weeks to start off the season. The boys in blue have added a few key contributors to bolster their lineup this summer. From the 2015 MJBL Champion Altona Bisons, Travis Friesen comes with lots of experience and success on the mound and at the plate in his junior career. Second is outfielder/pitcher Mike Gershman. After finishing a successful career at Valley City State University, the Mudcats are excited to add a player with Mike's ability to their lineup. Utility player Matt Kirk from Oakville, Ontario rounds out the new recruits this year. The boys are excited to get back out on the field and try to capture the WSBL & Provincial AA titles this year. The AA Provincial Championships will be held July 15-17 in Stonewall, Manitoba. |

The 2015 season is underway and the Cats are looking to defend their 2014 WSBL Championship. This year the Cats have made two additions to the roster. They have added LHP Paul Schaak to the rotation that includes Angus Klassen, Jeremy Sourkes, Aaron Friesen and 2013 Pitcher of the Year, Colin Waldner. They have also bolstered their lineup with the addition of infielder Patrick Vandoorne. The Mudcats will be attending the AA All Star Provincials as the WSBL # 1 seed. The tournament is held in Brandon, MB on July 17-19 at Andrews Field. The boys are excited to get the year going and will be gunning for their 3rd championship in four years. |

The WSBL champion has been crowned and the Cats have finished atop once again. The boys fought hard in a series against St.James to take four straight games after losing the opener.

The Mudcats have advance to the 2014 WSBL finals with a convincing sweep of the 1st place St.Boniface Legionaires. The squad put up 31 runs in three games. Pitching and defense were good, but the bats were the story. Aaron Friesen came away with two wins in the series and Angus Klassen won the other. The Mudcats now face the St.James A's in a best of seven final. Stay tuned for updates...

The Mudcats are coming off a strong 2013 campaign and are looking to improve. They added 4 new players: Jeremy Sourkes, Jeremy Anderson, Drew Martin & Jack Sullivan. After 12 games the 'Cats sit in 3rd place with an 8-4 record. Although the boys are not attending the AA All Star Provincials this year, a number of players have been selected to play in the tournament with various teams. Some highlights of the first half is the offence some of the boys have been providing. There are 7 players with average over .400. Two of them hitting over .500 (Anderson & Funk). The Mudcats are looking forward to finishing the season off strong and securing their birth in the post-season.

As the season came to an abrupt end in early September, the Mudcats can look back and be proud of what they accomplished in 2013. 2nd place in the WSBL playoffs and 2nd place in a hardfought Provincial weekend which Mother Nature did not comply. There is lots to be proud about in that dugout! Certain standouts need mentioning are: Colin Waldner who boasted a 9-1 record (including playoffs and provincials). Kevin McNeill also led the league in RBI's & tied for HR's. Chris Leclerc was tied for the league lead with 7 doubles. All in all it was a great year and the Mudcats Community looks forward to years of great baseball from this group. Congrats and have a great offseason.

| Posted Aug 6/13 - Mudcats pitchers dominate Stonewall to take sqaud to WSBL finals |
Kildonan leaned on their pitching and defense again to win three games vs the Stonewall Blue Jays. Game 1 saw Colin Waldner pitching a shutout gem and the Cats manufacturing 2 runs. Game 2 Angus Klassen was unhittable, throwing a 3 hit gem. Wes Pomarensky provided all of the offense with a two run bomb in the 5th inning. Game 3 started off with a bang as the Mudcats scored in their first two at bats. Aaron Friesen kept the boys in the game and Greg Penner slammed the door shut with his first save of the playoffs. Kildonan looks to defend their title against the winner of Elmwood vs St.Boniface.

| Posted Jul 12/13 - Mudcats take over 2nd place with win over Giants |
Kildonan increased their record to 10-6 on the season with a 3-0 win over the Elmwood Giants. The game proved to be a pitchers duel between Mudcats starter Colin Waldner and Giants starter Mark Bullion. Waldner actually carried a perfect game into the 4th inning when Giants 3B Kevin Krasowski stayed on a curveball to loop it over the middle infield. The Mudcats took their lead in the 5th inning with a single from Greg Penner to lead off the inning. Penner then stole second and was scored on 2 out error by Giants SS Curt Furber. Penner then continued his hot hitting with a solo HR in the 7th inning. Ryan Kuldys also provided an RBI single in the 7th to score Roger Turenne. Colin Waldner threw a complete game shutout, scattering 3 hits and striking out 8 while not walking a single batter. The Mudcats are back at it Monday night vs the Fort Garry Brewers.

The WSBL will be well represented sending four strong teams to the AA All Star Provincials in Brandon July 19-21. The Mudcats have picked up 4 players to improve their squad. They include RHP Kyle Nixon (Fort Garry Brewers), OF Quentin Dreger (Teulon Cardinals), RHP Danny Reinsch (Teulon Cardinals) & RHP Brent Zarney (St.James A's). | Posted Jun 6/13 - Cats take rematch of 2012 Finals |
The St.Boniface Legionaires visited Koskie Park on Tuesday night. The game was well anticipated by both sqauds. Starting pitchers were Mac Batchelor for St.B and Greg Penner for the Mudcats. Penner gave up 3 runs in the top of the 4th inning but hung onto get the win as the Cats exploded for 9 runs in the bottom of the inning. Veteran right hander Aaron Friesen came in and threw 3 scoreless innings of relief. Highlights include a 3/4 game by Kevin McNeill including a double, a home run and 4 RBI's. Chris Leclerc went 3/4 with 2 doubles and a stolen base. The Cats will take their 2-2 record to Teulon Thursday June 6th to take on the Cardinals. Gametime is 7pm.

The Kildonan Mudcats are pleased to announce the signing Altona Junior graduate Colin Waldner. Waldner is coming off an incredible season in the MJBL where he went 11-0 on the mound with 11 complete games and 4 shutouts. Colin also boasted a .284 average with 1 homerun and 12 RBI.

The Mudcats would like to welcome back Kevin McNeill and Derrick Funk to their lineup. McNeill returns after a successful career in the MSBL. Funk returns after a year hiatus for personal reasons. The organization is excited for the 2013 season to get underway.
