NMBA 2013 Pee Wee Summer All-star
 

We are hoping to have enough players to field 3 teams this summer. NMBA takes pride in trying to allow as many kids possible to experience the next level of baseball.

Evaluations for the 2013 Pee Wee AA and Pee Wee A  All Star teams have been scheduled for

Friday June 7th at 6pm at SF1 and SF2

Sunday June 9th 10am at SF#1 and SF#2.                                                               

Interested players are expected to attend both sessions.

It is required that all players attending this ID camp wear their house ball uniform. Do not wear previous all-star jerseys. Show up early and be ready to take the field at 6pm sharp on Friday.

There will be a parent information meeting beginning promptly at 6pm Friday. There is a certain level of player/family commitment associated with each of these teams. Families should know that if their child is selected for one of the Pee Wee summer all-star teams, BCMBA rules stipulate that all rostered players must be in attendance for zone and provincial playdowns in late July and the August long weekend.

All players interested in attending the Pee Wee all-star evaluations must pre-register via email by Wednesday, June 5th.   Please send your child’s name to maw33@telus.net

2012 Shewchuk Trophy awarded to our champs!

For the second year in a row, the Blue Jays defeated the Athletics in the finals. The final score was 8-7 in a game that took 8 innings to decide a winner. Here is the championship roster:

 ALL-STAR TRYOUTS

Tryouts for our top AAA Summer All-Star team have been completed. The team is listed below.

Tryouts for the AA and A teams are on Monday, June 4 and Wednesday, June 6. Please email Barry Hnatyshyn Barry.Hnatyshyn@investorsgroup.com if you need further information.

All tryouts will be at the Third Street Pee Wee Fields at 5:30.

CONGRATULATIONS ATHLETICS

The Nanaimo Athletics won the mid-season Pee Wee House Tournament, defeating The Mets 8-4. Can't get much closer than having the tying run at the plate at the end of the game!

It was great to see all 7 teams playing hard and competing well. Most games were very tight, with a number of come-from-behind victories. There were many "unsung heroes" who had their day in the sun, as well.

In addition to regular house play, we will be offering many opportunities for players to increase their baseball experience. These include:

• Prospects games: Players who wish to play against top opposition will have that opportunity nearly every Sunday during the season. Please contact me or Coach Barry Hnatyshyn if you would like the chance to play!
• Interleague play: Currently, every team has a game scheduled vs each of the 5 Oceanside house teams. These games will be on Saturday afternoons.
• Midseason House Tournament: We have invited teams from other associations to come and play in a tournament on the weekend of May 11 - 13. This 8 team tournament should be a lot of fun!
• Playoffs: The last weekend of the season will be a playoff tournament.
