Notes:
We lost our first game of the Butch Goring tournament 5-2 to Glenwood, who has been unable to beat us in our two previous contests this year. The two teams skated well together at the beginning of the game, with lots of shots by our Raiders and quite a few from the opposing Bruins as well. Ryan opened the scoring with an unassisted goal at 4:30 of the first period, which was answered just under 2 minutes later to tie it up. We traded goals in the second period as well. Louis got an early goal, assisted by our unsung hero, #67, who is catching up to our previous star, #24. Glenwood did not manage to score until close to the end of the period, but again we switched ends all tied up. Penalties were the big story in the third period, 1 to the opposition and 6 to our team. We managed to fight through 2 separate 5 on 3 situations but in the end it was just too much. 2 of the 3 goals Glenwood scored in the third period were on the power play, which saw Taylor facing a lot of shots and coming up big in the net. Brad earned the digger award for a strong performance in the game. |
