Pirates & Royals Both pick up key wins

The Carberry Royals picked up a critical win Wednesday night 15-3 over the visiting Minnedosa Mavericks. The win moves them to 10-4 and guarantees them a top two finish with 1 game remaining. The Plumas Pirates snapped a 3 game losing streak with an 8-4 win over the Austin A's. Plumas now sits at 9-3 with 3 games to go. They still control their own destiny in regards to the pennant race. The magic number is down to 2. The other game saw Portage down Neepawa 10-7.
In Carberry, Daylan Creasy homered, doubled and picked up the win on the mound for the Royals. They hit the ball extremely well, Zaine McConnell also homered for the Royals part of a 4-5 night. Luke Gugin took the loss, giving up a few homeruns scattered among quite a few costly errors. Austin Taylor and John Hutton were both 2-3 for the Mavericks (4-10)
In Plumas, Zaz Yandeau absolutely crushed another Homerun as the Pirates got back in the win column. Riley McBride pitched the final 3 innings and picked up the win for Plumas (9-3) Brendon Reimers 3-4 night was not enough for the Austin A's as they fell 8-4. Their record now sits at 7-7 with one home game to go on Friday vs Minnedosa.
In Portage - Daylan Laramee was 3-4 with 3 RBIs for the Padres to continue his quest for MVP, teammate Will Hlady picked up the win for Portage (6-6). Taylor Fletcher was a beast going 4-4 with 2 rbis as Neepawa falls to 4-10. Neepawa hosts Plumas on Friday night to wrap up their season, meanwhile Portage comes to Carberry Friday night.
