Ballgame Headed to the Bronx!

BRONX, NY - Teddy Ballgame is headed to New York! Once Free Agency hit it was all but assumed that the 1955 World Series MVP was heading back to Boston. GM Mark Morrison had said all the right things leading up to the start of free agency but once the clock struck midnight on the signing period there was nary a contract in sight for Williams. Instead, it was Rocky Colavito who nabbed the big contract from Beantown as the hometown fans were left stunned and heartbroken.
‘He checks all the boxes’ said Morrison at the press conference. ‘He’s the kind of player you build a team around’. Apparently crushing 400 Homers to date and swatting .388 a few seasons ago isn’t enough to build a team around. Fans were screaming for Morrison’s head on a platter as they took to social media and vented their displeasure, calling him a ‘Traitor’ amongst other colorful language.
With the coffers to pay the hefty price tag ‘Ballgame’ is now in pinstripes and so far he’s loving the change of scenery: ‘They know how to treat you down here. From the training staff to the clubhouse everything is top of the line. I’ve never seen so many different types of sandwiches and platters for the pre-game meal!’. When asked about the short left porch Ballgame’s eyes lit up ‘Ain’t nothing wrong with that’. It’s not clear if Teddy was talking about Right Field or one of the many female executive assistants who were flitting to and fro in the clubhouse.
Ballgame will have the games versus the Phanatics circled on the schedule and is excited to remind Morrison of everything he gave up to sign a guy named after a Boxer not a baseball player.
