| Game Notes: The Rockets kicked off the season against a very young Southey squad (Southey didn't even have a team last year) and the Rockets could have been overconfident and not come out strong, but they did and when Southey came out way more aggressively then expected, the Rockets just played their game and roared out to a 25-5 lead after one. The whole team got on the court by the start of the second quarter. What proved to be a problem all weekend, the Rockets came out flat and allowed the Screaming Eagles to win the second quarter 10-9. After a reminder at half time that this was not how we were going to play this year, the Rockets came out flying and scored 22 in the quarter with the bench looking much more comfortable and being aggressive after loose balls. Several times in the second half the Rockets had a squad of just 9s and 10s on the floor and they played very well. Kudos go to Alexa and Megan for teaming up several times on nice plays around the rim and to Christina Franks for scoring her first points as a Rocket. | |||||
