Josh Langford | Madison Academy | Freshman | Guard | 6-4, 200
The state’s Gatorade Player of the Year averaged 23.9 points, 8.5
rebounds and 2.9 assists in leading the Mustangs (23-12) to a Class 3A
state championship.
Jeremy Johnson | Carver-Montgomery | Senior | Guard | 6-6, 210
Johnson, who won the Mr. Football award in the fall, was in close
contention to pick up Mr. Basketball honors as well after averaging 18
points and five rebounds.
Lewis Sullivan | Hazel Green | Junior | Forward | 6-7, 195
Named Class 6A Player of the Year by the Alabama High School Athletic
Association, Sullivan averaged 18.5 points and 11.3 rebounds for the
Trojans.
De’Runnya Wilson | Wenonah | Senior | Forward | 6-6, 220
Wilson put up 18.4 points and 15.8 rebounds per game, leading the
Dragons (34-2) to their third consecutive Class 5A state title and
winning state Mr. Basketball honors. He has signed with Mississippi
State for football.
Jimmy Taylor | Greensboro | Senior | Center | 6-10, 210
The Alabama-bound Taylor led Greensboro to state titles as a sophomore
and junior, nearly pulling off the three-peat before the Raiders fell to
Madison Academy in the 3A championship.
