Basketball Banquet set for Wednesday, March 24
The Seven Lakes men's basketball program will host its annual basketball banquet on Wednesday, March 24th.  The banquet will be free and open to the public.  The banquet starts at 7:00 pm and will take place in the main commons.  Please come through the main campus doors. 

All-District Team Announced
Congratulations to the following Spartan players for these honors: 

17-5A District MVP Runner-Up:  Trey Pinkney (Soph.)
17-5A Defensive Player of the Year:  Princeton Onwas (Jr.)
17-5A Offensive Player of the Year:  Jaylon Jones  (Soph.)
17-5A First Team All-District: Pinkney, Onwas, Jones, and Cameron Patton (Sr.)
17-5A Second Team All-District: Erick Roberson (Soph.)
17-5A Honorable Mention: Peter Erni (Sr.)
 

Successful Season Draws to a Close
The Seven Lakes Spartans fell to the Houston Madison Marlins in the Area Round of the playoffs at the buzzer 58-57 in a close and exciting game.  Congratulations to the Spartans for earning their second district title in a row and earning a 25-win season.

Spartans Grab Opening Round "W" over Alief Taylor
Seven Lakes opened the UIL 5A Playoffs on Tuesday with a convincing 78-59 win over 18-5A's Alief Taylor. A huge thank you to the Spartan Cheerleaders, the Spartan Crazies, and all of the Spartan Fans in attendance!

3 District Titles for the Spartan Program 
Congratulations to the Varsity, Sophomore, and Freshmen B teams for defending their district titles and earning the crown in 2010 for District 17-5A!  The Varsity earned their second title in a row going 8-2, the Sophomores earned a very impressive, perfect 10-0 record in district, and the Freshmen B team repeated as district champs with an 8-2 performance as well.  Congrats Spartans!  Both the JV (8-2) and Freshmen A (7-3) squads earned runner-up finishes in the district.

NIKE HOOPS MADNESS = SPARTAN SWEEP!
The Seven Lakes program took care of business on Friday night with a sweep of the Cinco Ranch Cougars. The wins improve the Seven Lakes record to 20-2 versus Cinco Ranch the past two years including a 4-0 record on the Varsity level. Celebrating senior night, the Spartan Varsity rolled over Cinco 48-42.  All other Spartan teams took victories on the night.  A huge thank you to Nike, the Spartan Crazies, the Katy Wolf Pack, the Senior Parents,  and all Spartan Fans for one of the best high school basketball atmospheres in the city.

A Spartan Sweep occurs when three-five Spartans teams compete against the same school on any given Tuesday or Friday.  The SLHS men's basketball program has capitalized twelve times and has completed TWELVE SPARTAN SWEEPS!  Congrats, Spartans.

It's not 300, but 400 for the Spartans!
With the Freshmen A's thrilling 51-50 victory over the Katy Taylor Mustangs, the Spartan basketball program has topped the 400 win plateau in less than five years!  Congratulations to all Spartan basketball players for this tremendous accomplishment!

2700 Fans Make Nike Hoops Madness a Hit!
The first official Nike Hoops Madness Game in Houston took place between the MaxPreps #1 team in the nation, the Yates Lions, and the Spartans at Katy's Leonard Merrell Center.  In front of 2,700 fans, the Spartans played a tough four quarters, but the final scored read 88-76 in favor of the Lions.
