Pinkney, Jones, and Russell Represent Spartans in HABCA All-Star Game
Congratulations to Trey Pinkney, Jaylon Jones, and Atif Russell for being selected by the Houston Area Basketball Coaches Association as All-Stars for the West Houston Squad. The West Houston team was pitted against the South Houston team at Summer Creek High School on Thursday night, May 3rd and dropped a tight game, 134-130. Trey Pinkney finished the night with 15 points and one of the highlights of the night was his 75 foot buzzer beater to end the first half and give the West a lead of 53-52. Jaylon Jones had an excellent night as well, chipping in ten points and eight boards for the West. Atif Russell was unable to attend due to a prior commitment. Congratulations to Atif, Jaylon, and Trey for representing Seven Lakes Basketball. Congratulations to the Spartan Coaching Staff for being selected by the Houston Area Basketball Coaches to lead the West squad.

Congratulations to Trey Pinkney, the Spartan All-Time leader in assists and steals, for signing a Division One Scholarship to play for SFA! Trey was a four-year Varsity starter on a team that averaged 30 wins each of his four seasons at Seven Lakes. Trey also played on two Regional Tournament Qualifying teams, earned District Defensive Player of the Year honors, and All-District honors. Congratulations to the Spartans All-Time Leading Scorer, Jaylon Jones, for signing with the Truman State Bulldogs in Missouri for a full ride athletic scholarship to play college basketball. Jaylon was a four-year Varsity member on a team that averaged 30 wins each of his four seasons at Seven Lakes. Jaylon also played on two Regional Tournament Qualifying teams, earned District Offensive Player of the Year honors, and All-District honors. Congratulations to Jaylon and his family!

Although disappointed with a two-point loss to Fort Bend Hightower in the Regional Semifinals, the Seven Lakes Spartans men's basketball program reflects with a great amount of pride on a highly successful 33-7 campaign throughout the 2011-2012 basketball season. The Spartan Basketball Coaching Staff and the Spartan Basketball Community is extremely proud of these young men and all of the honors, accomplishments, and achievements they've earned this year!!!
1. 5A Region III Regional Tournament Qualifier for the second year in a row
2. Spartans tie Katy ISD record and Seven Lakes record of 33 wins
3. Spartans capture Nike Classic Tournament Championship
4. Spartans capture Alvin Classic Tournament Championship
5. Spartans earn Runner-Up in Austin LBJ Classic Tournament
6. Spartans earn second place in District 19-5A
7. Spartans win three playoff games over three traditional Houston powers--Houston Madison, Alief Elsik, and Cy-Falls
8. With its playoff win over Cy Falls, the Spartan Varsity captured the program's 250th win in two years!
9. Won 120 Varsity games the past 4 years for an average of 30 wins per year

Spartans Defeat Cy-Falls to Reach Regionals For 2nd Year in a Row!
The Seven Lakes Spartans defeated the Cy Falls Golden Eagles 57-45 on Tuesday night to reach the 5A Region III Regional Tournament.Spartans Defeat Alief Elsik in Round Two
The Seven Lakes Spartans downed the Alief Elsik Rams in Round Two of UIL 5A Playoff play 71-64. Congratulations Spartans on a TEAM win!
Spartans Down Marlins in Round One
The Seven Lakes Spartans opened Round One of UIL 5A playoff play with a 67-50 win over the Houston Madison Marlins on Tuesday. The Spartans were tied 25-25 at half, but used a 20-10 run to start the second half en route to the victory. Congratulations Spartans!
Seven Lakes Sub-Varsities Gather Four District Titles
All four Spartan sub-varsites earned district titles this season to push the Seven Lakes men's basketball program district championship tally to 25! Over the past seven seasons, the Spartan men's program has earned 25 of 33 potential district championships. Congratulations to the Spartan Junior Varsity, Sophomore, Freshmen A, and Freshmen B teams for their superb overall and district seasons. The Junior Varsity swept the district becoming Seven Lakes' first JV team to earn an undefeated district season at the 5A level. The Sophomores earned their seventh district title in a row, while the Freshmen B team hammered Cinco Ranch in the final game of the season to earn their thrilling district title. For the second year in a row, the Freshmen A team earned a district championship and they did so this year as an undefeated Freshmen A team in district play. Congratulations to all of our young men for their hard work, dedication and commitment to DEFENSE, UNSELFISHNESS, and TEAM BASKETBALL!700th win for Spartan Program in 7 years!
Congratulations to the Spartans Men's basketball program for earning the program's 700th win last night when the Junior Varsity squad topped the Mayde Creek Rams 57-41 last night. The 9A and Varsity picked up wins #701 and #702 with their victories later on in the evening. Congratulations to current players and men's basketball alumni on this historic accomplishment! The current program record for 2011-2012 is 98-8!
Trey Pinkney and Atif Russell Reach 1,000 Points
Congratulations to Spartans Trey Pinkney and Atif Russell who each reached the 1,000 point mark for their careers on Friday night against the Morton Ranch Mavericks. Trey has been a four-year starter for the Spartans at point guard while Atif has been a two-year starter at the wing spot, and a three-year Varsity player, for Seven Lakes. Congratulations Trey and Atif!!!
