ORIOLES SWEPT IN TWIN BILL BY LEDGERS
April 22nd...The North Fond du Lac Orioles were unable to carry any momentum from Thursday's win in Laconia into a doubleheader Saturday at Fond du Lac Saint Mary Springs, getting swept in EC-F Rivers division play, 8-4 and 14-2 in 5 innings. Springs slowly built the lead through 5 innings, scoring single tallies in the 1st, 2nd and 4th while adding a pair in the 3rd. A combination of Ledger execution and Oriole mistakes led to the runs and to the clinching 3-run Springs burst in the 6th, after NFDL had made a game of it with 2 runs in the 6th. The Orioles brought the tying run to the plate in the 7th, but could not complete the comeback. In Game 2, Springs jumped to a quick 5-0 lead and never looked back, taking advantage of 8 Oriole walks and four errors to produce 6 unearned runs. Scott Woicek took the loss, pitching into the 2nd inning before being lifted for Blair Klatt, who finished. John Cetnar contributed 2 of the Oriole's six hits in game 2.
