The Winthrop Eagles advanced to the Region 6 playoffs eliminating the Fairfax Cardinals Thursday Night 6-3.  The Cards end their season 10-16.  Dan Anderson threw all nine for the win, his second win of the year vs Fairfax.  Mark Yrjo was the tough luck loser for Fairfax.  Winthrop the #5-seed will now play Saturday Night against #2-seed Arlington for the league championship and draft priority.  Good luck to the Eagles in the region playoffs!

Look for Fairfax to rebound with a better year next year.  The squad will bring back more experience and some strong arms to the mound next year.

Northstar League East (4) Loretto, Maple Plain, Mound, Rockford

The top two teams from each sub-region will advance to the regions in Arlington.  Both the sub-regions and regions are double elimination.
