Posted May 28/10 - Jack's loses to Great Clips then takes down Concrete

A trend seems to be emerging that Captain Jack's just doesn't hit well in the first game. After a lackluster start, Jack's made it interesting in the last two innings to come within 2 runs of mounting a come-back. Ultimately, however, they fell short and lost to Great Clips 9-7. In the second game, Jack's held a 10 run lead heading into the 6th to Northland Concrete before they closed the gap. Northland managed a 5 run comeback in the bottom of the 7th and with bases loaded and the tying run on second, Dean Turnlund made a fantastic web-jeb diving stop at 2nd to seal the victory. Paul Fern had a solid night at the plate and made some nice stops at 3rd base and is this week's "player of the week". Next weeks games are at 6:30 and 8:50...

Posted May 27/10 - Jack's Drops one, Falls to 3-1

Jack's lost the first of it's double-headers last Thursday by losing to a much revamped Belzer's squad. Belzer's jumped out early and while Jack's made a couple of surges, they could not mount a come-back... Jack's came out of the second game and did what it could not do in the first with a dominating win over Doherty's. The next games are versus Northland Concrete and Great Clips, which will provide two excellent challenges. Game times are at 6:30 and 7:40.

Posted May 7/10 - Jack's jump out at 2-0

Jack’s started off the season strong with strong victories over C.L.A.C. (last year’s Lonsdale Merchants) and a piss-pounding of Crossroads… Web Gems included a great diving (yes I said diving) stop by Burrill at third base and a subsequent inability to roll over to throw the ball along with some Chewbacca style noises, some great catches by Nick Meath in the outfield and a 5-4-3 Triple Play (Burrill to Turnlund to Martinson) that turned out to be a blown call on the 3^rd out by the ump. Overall, the infield played well, the outfield played well and the team hit very well… a great way to start the season.
