Astros slip past Reds
WOW--What a game!--We
did not lose tonight's game, we got beat, there is a big difference. Give
the Astros credit they put the ball in the right spots at the right time.
They made just enough defensive plays to pull out the win. We played a
great game and the Astros have the best team in the league...hold your heads
high Reds...you made everyone proud!
In the first inning--We hit the ball HARD, but
the Astros made the plays to keep us scoreless. Connor and Garrett had
hits to put men on first and second. Jonah hit a line drive that was caught by
the SS and Robbie hit a smash that the pitcher snared and threw to first for out
#3. In the bottom half the Astros scored 4 to take a quick 4-0 lead.
In the second we went to work with the
bats. We scored 4 big runs with hits from Joey, Dawson, Ryan, Quentin,
Hassaan, and Morgan. Blake hit the ball hard and although got out at first
base drove in 2 runs for a great productive out. Connor got robbed by the
SS on a line drive. We didn't give up and we gave the Astros all they
could handle from that point on. In the bottom half, the Astros hit the
ball all over the field and scored 5.
In the top half of the 3rd, We scored 5 huge runs
on hits by Garrett, Jonah, Joey, Dawson, Quentin, and Trevor. In the
bottom half, we had the Astros with no one on and 2 out, but they managed to
push 2 runs across. We got the 3rd out on a great throw by Trevor to Jonah
at second. Astros 11 Reds 9 after 3.
In the 4th, Hassaan and Morgan got robbed for 2
quick outs, but we did some more 2 out damage as Connor, Garrett, Jonah, and
Robbie strung 4 hits together to tie the score at 11. In the bottom half,
the Astros managed to score the only run they needed and won the game
12-11. We fought the toughest team in the league all the way to the
wire. We gave them more than they bargained for and knew they were in a
fight the whole way.
Final Score:
Astros
12 Reds 11
