Welcome to the Ramblers Website. Home of the 2005 Riverview champs.

July 30th, 2008

Those who were in attendance Tuesday night at Veterans field, had the privilege to witness one of the most well-pitched games in the state of Minnesota this season. C.J. Woodrow of the Minnetonka Millers and Joe Blankush of the Ramblers each pitched complete games. Minnetonka, however won the hard-fought battle 2-0. Blankush threw a 4-hitter, while taking the loss. The Rambler offense, despite being shut out, out-hit the Millers 7-4. Thursday night's game takes place at Big Willow Park in Hopkins at 7:30, where the Ramblers will try and force a 3rd game of the series with the Millers.

The red hot Rambler offense continued it's reign Sunday evening, trouncing the Bandits 10-0 in 6 innings. The second win by 10-run rule in as many games, proves that the Rambler offense is definitely the hottest in the Riverview. In a post-game interview with Dave Hosford, the most asked question around the league was answered:  How have the Rambler bats come alive so suddenly at this point in the season? Hosford remarked, "We've made the appropriate adjustments. Getting the team to actually show up and hit batting practice before the games has shown it's obvious effects."

The Ramblers also played exceptional defense, with Brian Sprout making some key plays and a Rambler signature game-ending double play. Carl Ermisch put away his matchbox cars for the day and instead picked up the baseball to throw 6 shutout innings. Carl located his pitches, kept the Bandits off balance, getting the key ground balls and pop-ups when he needed them most. Tuesday is "Save a Squirrel" night with Dave Hosford providing the peanuts at Veterans field in Minnetonka. Bring your green hat.

The Ramblers had their best offensive showing of the season on Thursday night at Red Haddox, where they slaughtered the Bandits 12-2. The win came by way of the 10-run rule with Former St. Paul Saint Brian Sprout hitting a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 8th. The Ramblers dominated in every sense of the game, notably their baserunning.

Joe Blankush brought his "A game", throwing all of his pitches effectively, which ultimately kept the Bandits off balance the whole night.

The bats have woken up out of fear of being savagely thrown through a wood chipper. "Sometimes you have to send a message. Weakness will not be tolerated" noted player coach Carl Ermisch. He added "The bats now know that if they are laying around doing nothing that someone will come by, pick them up, and throw them into a wood chipper"

Richfield and Bloomington will square off in the series finale on Sunday, 6:00 PM at Red Haddox. The bats have woken up.

July 2nd, 2008

Bryan Flood pitched another gem for the Ramblers on Tuesday night, going the full 7 for a 3-1 win over NWS. Kyle McDermott hit a towering home run, adding insurance to the Ramblers victory.

June 25th, 2008

After trailing 4-0, the bats finally awoke in the 6th inning of yesterday's showdown with the Bandits. The Ramblers scored twice in the 6th and three more times in the top half of the 7th. Bryan Flood threw another complete game to seal the victory, with the Ramblers winning 5-4. Tonight, Richfield travels to Dakota Field to take on St. Louis Park at 8:30 PM.

June 24th, 2008

After a few disappointing losses, the Ramblers look to bounce back and add to the win column tonight against the Bloomington Bandits. The team looks to "wake up bats" in a pre-game ritual inspired by the baseball cult classic, Major League.

June 15th, 2008

Make it a streak, Erik Olson pitches 7 strong innings for the third straight Rambler shutout.  Ramblers take advantage of some errors and had some timely hitting up and down the line-up to win  it 6-0.

June 12th, 2008

The Rambler again received a wonderful pitching performance from Bryan Flood as he shutout the ESOX.  The Ramblers were able to score 2 runs on extra base hits from Flaherty, Ramirez and Ryan.  The solid defensive play of the Ramblers help tack on to the win column.

June 10th, 2008

Ramblers finally found themselves in the win column as Joe Blankush pitched a gem and shut down Hopkins by the score of 2-0.  Great defensive play kept any threats from scoring and the motto “just enough” lived on ....as the win was in true Rambler Style.

June 5th, 2008

Strong Thunderstorms have forced a cancellation of tonight's game. "Hot Carl" Ermisch made the call Thursday afternoon. The Ramblers are back in action on Monday.

June 4th, 2008

A third consecutive good pitching performance was not enough to keep the Minnetonka Millers from pulling off a 4-1 win over the Ramblers Tuesday evening. Miller catcher, Tony Richards, hit a signature towering home run to highlight the game's offense. Brandon Broxey pitched a gem for the Millers, taking a shut-out into the 6th inning, before the Ramblers scrapped for their only run of the game.

Bryan Flood's solid performance on the mound could not be matched by a struggling Rambler offense. Therefore, it's back to the drawing board and the good news about baseball is that there is always tomorrow.

May 30th, 2008

After a brief discussion on whether to go through with the game, due to rainfall, the Ramblers took the field against the Bloomington Bandits. The Bandit sub-zero pitcher, or "ankle slapper", as he's known, pitched an outstanding game. He took a no-hitter into the 6th inning, where the Ramblers scored 3 runs on a few hits and an error, spoiling the gem. However, 3 runs were not enough to overcome the Bandits, as Richfield took a 5-3 loss.

Joe Blankush, coming out of retirement for his first start since 2006, pitched a solid game for the Ramblers. Carl "The Weatherman" Ermisch, who indicated earlier in the day that the weather was going to miss Rambler Stadium, better find his talents - FAST - before life passes him by. Ladies, he's single!!! Please post on the forum if you are interested on dating "Hot Carl". Seriously, ladies. He's a hell of a good guy.

The next match-up takes place on Tuesday as the Ramblers take on defending Riverview and State Champs, the Minnetonka Millers.

May 28th, 2008

The Ramblers fought a tough battle in a 6-3 loss to St. Louis Park on Tuesday. Erik Olson worked 6 well-pitched innings, keeping the game close. A few costly mistakes gave Park the win in the latter innings.

Steve Ryan started the scoring for the Ramblers, when he laced a line drive over the left field wall for his first home run of the season. Overall, it was a good showing and first test for the Ramblers as they look to build off of it in a Thursday showdown with the Bandits of Bloomington.

May 22nd, 2008

Today, the Ramblers had a final tune-up as we approach the opener at Rambler Stadium. A sell-out crowd is expected as Riverview powerhouse, St. Louis Park, takes on the Ramblers on Tuesday, May 27th.

May 18th, 2008

The Ramblers are back for 2008 as the team has been working hard to piece back together over the winter. There will be some new faces on the field along with some of the same old crew.

With the absence of Pavelko, another Rambler-to-be-assigned later will have to step up and provide a loud, angry and intimidating voice. Appearance is not important. Bring your green hat.

We hope to see you at Opening Day!
