Pitching and Defense lead Thunder To Victory!!

The Thunder played their first road game of the year in the WSYBL and came away with an impressive 10-2 victory over a very good Oconomowoc team. The team played an all around great game. Pitching was fantastic, the defense only had one error and we got just enough clutch hits on the offensive side. Sam Geldnich started on the mound and threw 4 great innings allowing 2 runs while only walking one and striking out 6. He was pumping strikes all day and was one out away from throwing 4 scorelss innings when he issued a two out walk in the 4th, which was followed by a triple and an infield single to plate their two runs. Evan Roell would come on to pitch the last 3 innings and was just as impressive. He allowed two hits, 0 runs and struck out three. The pitching set the tone and the offense got clutch hits when they needed to.

On the offensive side, the Thunder were led by George Seaman, Collin Dehne and Caden Gish who all had two hit days. George had a booming triple way over the head of the right fielder to go along with two RBI while Collin Dehne had two hard hit doubles over the head of the left and center fielders. Caden Gish had two singles to go along with a great sac bunt to move the runners over to second and third and they would eventually come into score. Sam Geldnich reached twice, once with a single and the other via walk. Evan Roell had the other hit and another RBI to go along with his great pitching performance.

With the victory, the Thunder improves to 9-0 in State League play and 17-1 overall. They look to keep it going Tuesday in Sheboygan with game time beginning at 6:00pm.
