Hurricane Blows Into Dallas Texas

DALLAS, TEXAS, Saturday, August 20, 2009 -- Nickname Team Hurricnes for generating strength and destroying everything in its path, Team Hurricanes with it’s classic-look logo and black and orange (color of high energy), General Manager, Coach Barbara Davis, announces it’s decision to join the United Basketball League (UBL) and become one of the newest UBL’s men’s basketball team. Team Hurricanes will begin it’s official first season with the UBL starting March 2010.

The new Texas Hurricanes name and logo will appear on the official United Basketball League, league website, http://www.ublhoops.com and the new Hurricanes team website, http://www.ballcharts.com/txhurricanes. Hurricanes General Manager, Barbara Davis made the decision to join the UBL about a two months ago.

"The bold, classic and traditional lettering of the centered “T’ and the swirl of the hurricane symbol was carefully designed with simplicity to let the strength and power of Team Hurricanes show it’s presence," Says Coach Davis, General Manager.  

"This is an exciting day for Dallas basketball fans of all ages," Davis said. "We want to be here for the community, this is not just my team, but it is Dallas’ team.”

The team's uniform design will be revealed at the team’s first pre-season game, October 24, 2009 vs. Baton Rouge Bears. The pre-season schedule will also include games vs. NBA D Leagues, ABA Teams, and  WBA teams. Team Hurricanes will be holding it’s first training camp September 19, 2009 at Kidd Springs Recreation Center in Dallas. Official Hurricane apparel and merchandise will be coming soon to order on the team’s website.

Team Hurricanes roster includes former NBA New Jersey Nets and former Portland Trail Blazers player, Von McDade and former overseas professional league player and former San Diego State guard, Matt Watts.  Team Hurricanes will be revealing it’s new Head Coach and coaching staff soon.

Fans who sign up on the team’s website for tickets to Team Hurricanes home games, will get a special ticket rate. Tickets will go on sale for pre-season games starting October 1, 2009 and regular season tickets will be on sale closer to the season start date. Team Hurricanes will have open practice on Sundays at Kidd Springs Recreation Center, 3-5pm. Come out and show your support.
