The Riels pretty upset with all the chances to score in the 1st frame coming up short being down 3 -1.  The team regrouped and came out like gangbusters in the second winning every battle.  The hard work paid off when the line of Brian Dies, Brett Charette and Russell Treadeau managed to score at 2:57 on the power play!  It was Dies finishing off a beautiful passing play from Brock Bram and Brett Charette! Then at 8:20 on the power play, Russell Trudeau found the mesh on a crisp passing play from Brett Charette to deadlock it at 3 – 3.  At 16:29 on the power play, Brett Charette scored assist coming from Russell Treadeau.  The Riels were on fire out shooting the Raiders at this point 13 – 1.  The Raiders took seven miners that period.

With 13 second later at 16:42, Ryan Magalas spoiled the Riels great period by putting another one past the Riels net minder to tie the game at 4 – 4, assist coming from Mike Lazo and Nicholas Loeppky.  So that’s how it was after 40 minutes with Riels outshooting the Raiders 15 – 5.

THIRD PERIOD

The game in the third was tight checking with alot of opportunities on both ends.  Riels net minder Vandemosselaer had a strong 3rd period, coming up big to keep it at par!

Both teams exchanged power plays late, but no one could break the tie.

The Riels pressing late deep in Raider land, the big line that did all the damage all night came through again with 5 seconds left on the clock.  Brian Dies completed a beautiful 3 way passing play to outlast goalie Ryan Brown to seal the deal!
