The Tigerette Softball team defeated Bullit East 13-8 to win the Southern High School Spring Break Bash championship in Louisville, Ky. over the weekend. For the tournament, the Tigerettes were 4-1 saving their best games for the semi-finals and finals on Saturday. The ladies defeated St. Josephs Academy from Ohio 4-2 in Saturday's semi-final that went into an international tie breaker. Taylor East hit a one out single to push the Tigertettes out in front 3-2 and then scored on a base hit. The defense held a half inning later to come away with a hard fought 4-2 victory.
The Tigerettes then took on the #1 seed for the tournament in Bullit East from Shepherdsville, KY. From the first inning, the girls in blue unleashed an offensive onslaught while taking advantage of a few Charger errors to win the championship 13-8. The Tigerettes were led by Leah Rather's 2-run blast to left centerfield. Tori Key also kept up her hot hitting with a multi-hit game as well. Offensively, it was one of the best hitting games all year while limiting the defensive errors to a measley 2. Great job ladies! |
